Israel expands urbicide as a tool of genocide in Gaza by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor

  1. Palestinian territory – The Israeli military’s destruction of entire Palestinian cities and neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip is a clear manifestation of the genocide Israel has been committing in Gaza for the past 14 months, and a primary tool for its implementation.
  2. This crime has not been confined to the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians or the gradual decimation of two million people’s basic survival elements. It has extended to the complete annihilation of Palestinian cities, obliterating their architectural and civilisational fabric. This systematic destruction aims to erase the Palestinian national and cultural identity, impose permanent forced displacement, prevent return, dismantle communities, and eradicate their collective memory. It is a deliberate attempt to eliminate their physical and human existence while destroying their past, present, and future.

North Gaza: Israel destroys the last collapsing hospital to complete forced displacement crime by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

Early this morning, Israeli occupation forces resumed military assaults on civilians in Beit Lahia, conducting deadly raids on homes and streets before encircling Kamal Adwan Hospital, which remains partially operational, along with two other hospitals in northern Gaza.

According to Euro-Med field field teams, Israeli forces used Palestinian detainees as human shields, forcing them to warn hospital staff that all displaced persons and companions of patients must leave the premises and head to areas controlled by Israeli forces. Many were arrested upon arrival, while others were forced to flee to a checkpoint in the Civil Administration are and eventually to Gaza City.

The Israeli military also forced the evacuation of the Indonesian medical delegation volunteering at Kamal Adwan Hospital, leaving without their vehicles. The assault near Kamal Adwan Hospital lasted several hours, leaving between 30 and 50 people dead in nearby streets and homes. Witnesses report that searches for additional victims are ongoing.

Israel subjects northern Gaza to one of the most violent campaigns of its genocide; int’l intervention required by EuroMed Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

  1. Palestinian Territory – An unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe is imminent as the Israeli occupation tightens its siege on the Jabalia camp and Beit Lahia project in the northern Gaza Strip for the fourth consecutive day. Israel is accelerating the pace of its genocide against the Palestinians there by carrying out mass and planned killings, as well as widespread forced displacements. The international community, led by the United Nations, must act swiftly and decisively to save 10s of thousands of residents who are being subjected to one of the most violent campaigns of genocide the Strip has ever witnessed.

… The Euro-Med Monitor field team received testimonies from citizens, who were able to reach Gaza City, about witnessing dead bodies lying in the streets…

… Thousands of people trapped in the Jabalia and Beit Lahia camps are suffering from a near-total shortage of food supplies, which were already scarce due to Israel’s closure of the border crossings. The limited amount of goods and other aid that had previously been allowed to enter the area was blocked by Israel for more than a week prior to the new invasion. Numerous families remain stuck in their homes, enduring harsh living conditions under the intensified and brutal Israeli bombing. Citizens are not even able to leave their homes in order to obtain water, and municipal crews and local committees are unable to assist them. As a result, thousands of residents face the threat of starvation, dehydration, or death, knowing full well that they are all victims of the catastrophic effects of malnutrition brought on by Israel’s year-long starvation policy.

New report.. De-Gaza: A Year of Israel’s Genocide and the Collapse of World Order by EuroMed Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

  1. Palestinian Territory – Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has released a comprehensive report marking one year since Israel launched its genocidal campaign against civilians in the Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023. During this period, Israel has committed grave war crimes, with the explicit complicity of the international community.
  2. Titled De-Gaza: A Year of Israel’s Genocide and the Collapse of World Order, the report details the most prominent crimes committed over the past 12 months, thoroughly documented by Euro-Med field teams. It traces the clear elements of genocide perpetrated by the Israeli army, explores the legal frameworks defining the crime of genocide, and scrutinises both the context and ongoing circumstances. The report also addresses the international judiciary’s response, and, significantly, the global community’s complicit role in allowing the genocide to continue.

UN Special Rapporteur on Torture should be dismissed for bias and deliberate failure to perform duties by EuroMed Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

  1. To finalize, it is now well-established that thousands of Palestinian detainees and prisoners are subjected to severe, systematic, and widespread torture, ill-treatment, rape, and other forms of sexual violence, particularly since October 7, 2023, at the hands of the Israeli army and the Israel Prison Service. Given the gravity of the situation and the collaboration of all Israel’s state systems, including the judiciary, in either ignoring, endorsing, or openly condoning these crimes, it is unrealistic to expect Israeli investigative bodies to address or hold accountable those responsible effectively. The ongoing genocide we all witnessed over the past 10 months further underscores that leaving the issue solely in their hands is both inadequate and unjust. On the contrary, it sets the stage for impunity and denies victims their fundamental rights.
  2. Thus, relying on a biased or inactive Special Rapporteur is neither a viable nor an acceptable solution. The gravity of the abuses and the entrenched complicity of Israeli state systems require a robust and impartial mechanism to ensure accountability. A Special Rapporteur perceived as biased or ineffective would undermine the credibility of the investigative process and fail to address the urgent need for justice and redress. Therefore, the gravity of the situation calls for a more effective and impartial approach to achieving justice for the victims.

Israel uses water as a weapon of its genocide in Gaza on EuroMed Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

  1. Palestinian Territory – Through persistent, systematic, and widespread targeting of the Gaza Strip’s water sources and desalination plants, Israel is using water as a weapon against Palestinian civilians. In addition to imposing famine, Israel is deliberately reducing the amount of water available to residents of the Strip—especially potable water sources—intentionally targeting the over 2.3 million people who live there as part of its genocide, ongoing since last October.

Hostages of Israeli revenge in the Gaza Strip: Testimonies of 100 released Palestinian detainees reveal crimes of torture, cruel treatment by EuroMed Human Rights Monitor

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

  1. Since the start of the massive and unprecedented Israeli military attack on the Gaza Strip and the genocide against its entire Palestinian population, ongoing since 7 October 2023, the Israeli army has launched widespread arbitrary arrest campaigns. These campaigns have targeted Palestinian civilians, including women, children, the elderly, and displaced people, and have occurred most commonly during Israel’s ground incursions into cities, refugee camps, and various residential neighbourhoods in the Strip.

… the Israeli army used physical and psychological torture against Palestinian civilian detainees, including beatings with the intent to kill, sexual violence, electrocution, blindfolding, and long-term hand and foot shackles. Detainees were also denied access to food and medical care, including critical and life-saving care, were spat and urinated upon, and were subjected to other cruel and degrading acts and psychological abuse, including threats of rape and death, insults, and other forms of sexual violence.
