Within Our Lifetime Rally Toolkit on WOL

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

From August 5th to August 7th, forty-nine Palestinians, including seventeen children, were murdered in cold blood in air strikes by occupation forces throughout Gaza and over 350 Palestinians were wounded. As rallies, marches, vigils and social media campaigns continue to be organized around the world to honor the martyrs of Gaza and to defend the Palestinian right to resist, this toolkit remains a resource for all those fighting for Palestinian liberation and return.

In response to the occupation’s latest genocidal attack on Gaza, we have added the full list of the names of the martyrs in Gaza and high resolution posters of them at the bottom of the page. Print them out and take pictures with them at protests and at home to continue the call to honor the martyrs of Palestine.

Since the siege and blockade of Gaza began in 2007, the nearly 2 million Palestinians living inside of the world’s largest open air prison have been attacked by the US-backed occupation time and time again. It is in the face of this genocide that Gaza has resisted, and continues to resist. From popular resistance to organized resistance, from the Great Return March to armed struggle, we must defend the right of Palestinians to defend themselves against zionist genocide by any means necessary.

October 29th, 1956: Remembering the Kafr Qassem Massacre and Reclaiming Palestinian History by Within Our Lifetime

The cover up and erasure of the Kafr Qassem massacre came just eight years after the Nakba in 1948, and just three years after the Qibya massacre in 1953. In every instance of pre-meditated genocide, the zionist entity not only denied responsibility, but sought to erase the events from history altogether.

VIDEO || The Al-Aqsa Intifada: 20 Years Later by Within Our Lifetime

Monday, September 28th marked the 20th anniversary of the start of the Al-Aqsa Intifada (Second Intifada), which lasted from September 2000 – February 2005. Throughout the Intifada, at least 5,000 Palestinians were martyred, from youth protesting against the suffocating occupation, to freedom fighters who took up arms to resist israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing. Through archival footage, we look back on the Al-Aqsa Intifada and its ongoing legacy to this day.

Palestinians are left less than 10% of land over which they partially control subject to israeli military occupation, while the occupation’s full control will extend to 90% of Palestinian land. This is the latest stage of the ongoing Nakba and the most aggressive plan since the 1967 Naksa to steal Palestinian land and expand illegal israeli settlements. It is further institutionalization of genocide.

A Heated Fifth Week of Protest at the Whitney Museum Centers Palestinian Liberation on Hyperallergic

Members of Within Our Lifetime, a youth organization for Palestine, broke the tension in the air with a cheerful Dabka (Palestinian folk dance) flash-mob. The dance was followed by a string of chants including: “Warren Kanders you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide”; “from Brooklyn to Palestine, occupation is a crime”; and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
…“Kanders is art washing through his blood money as a profiteer. We see this normalization in Israel, where they’re trying to attract famous artists to come and perform, while Palestinian women and children are being attacked with rubber bullets and tear gas,” said another member of Within Our Lifetime. “We won’t let those who profit of Israel’s settler colonialism and the genocide of Palestinians hide in the board rooms of museums.”

Call to May Day 2016: Palestine Contingent by Within Our Lifetime

Indeed, this May also marks 68 years of living under occupation, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and genocide for the Palestinian people. Israel sustains itself and its crimes through the aid of global imperialist powers that also oppress working class peoples in their own countries, the most notable of these countries being the United States, the world’s only superpower and leading imperialist power.

This May Day, we denounce Israel, we denounce the United States, and we denounce global capitalism and its highest form, imperialism. We salute the workers, the resistors, and the oppressed everywhere.
