The slow genocide of Palestinians continues in Asira Al Qibliya by International Solidarity Movement

This situation is nothing new, however one may wonder exactly how many more dunhams Israel can take before there is nothing left. Or, considering the well-documented discriminatory practices of water usage between Palestinians and settlers, how long before massive drought sweeps the Palestinian natives? How many more homes can be destroyed until most of the population is rendered homeless? If it’s hard to imagine a tipping point for the West Bank, one need only to look at Gaza, which the UN and NGOs alike say will be unlivable in about a year. One should not make any mistake, the occupation of the Palestinian territories is genocide.

When it comes to the infrastructure of genocide, you could illustrate it using almost any photo of a school, house, shop or village in the West Bank. You could bookmark a Google maps page of a particular West Bank town — then look again in three or six months time and note the destruction wrought.

Palestine takes Israel to Int’l Criminal Court at Hague over Gaza Massacre by Juan Cole

Palestine, which is a cautious and timid government, had earlier declined to go to the ICC, in hopes instead of reaching a negotiated settlement. The Trump decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, however, forestalled a negotiated settlement on that issue. Israel’s illegal flooding of its citizens onto Palestinian property in the West Bank and refusal to negotiate any freeze in squatter settlements has also convinced Palestine that the US-Israeli “peace process” is a cover for slow genocide. Ironically, it was Trump’s lack of diplomatic grace that in large part impelled this step.

Recognition under International Law by Aarif Muzafar Rather

What proceeded the emigration of Jews into Palestine is a story of great distress and a living account of the evasion of international criminal justice and the politics around it. The political and geographical fragmentation of Palestine, increasing control of West Bank territory, deteriorating human rights standards, increased Israeli military presence suggest that the resolution of the issue is as remote as it has been through more than a century of the occupation. In 1967, Israel occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights that only increased the methods of warfare and occupation. As far as the international status of Palestine is concerned, it is recognized by 193 member states of the United Nations (as of 2015). The Palestinian Declaration of Independence proclaimed the establishment of Palestinian state in exile and their claims of statehood were rendered even weaker as they were disposed of the territories they claimed. The development of international criminal law witnessed a subjugation of the Palestinian population. As for example, while the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was being drafted in 1948, “Palestinians were ‘cleansed’ of areas of the new state of Israel”(Mark Tessler, A History of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict).  Similarly, when the war crime of transferring settlers into an occupied territory was included in the Rome Statute, Israel objected to it, arguing that it was not an offence of customary nature.

No Palestinian state in West Bank, says Israeli minister on Middle East Monitor

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

We became half a million Jews in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] and we will become one million,” Ariel said. “There will be only one state between the river and the sea which is the state of Israel. Unfortunately, some of the areas such as Jerusalem, Sinai, Judea and Samaria [the West Bank], the Golan Heights and the Gaza Strip are not in our hands.” The minister called for imposing “Jewish domination” over Al-Aqsa Mosque, stating that the “utmost goal” is to impose full domination over the holy city.

Condemning Israeli ‘War Crimes,’ Taxpayers Call to Shut Off Aid by Brian Eakin

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

U.S. taxpayers have brought a federal complaint to halt U.S. aid of Israel, saying the money is being used to fund war crimes in the Palestinian territories. “We’re trying to cut off aid to Israel based on its human-rights record,” attorney Martin McMahon said in an interview.

As laid out in McMahon’s Nov. 16 complaint, the U.S. Departments of Treasury, State and Defense have helped facilitate a “master plan” to permanently colonize Palestinian land and “de-nationalize” the Palestinian people…

… By committing crimes against humanity, genocide and denationalizing the civilian population, Israel has rendered the permanent annexation of the West Bank a “fait accompli,” according to the 69-page complaint. American taxpayers have been funding these operations for the past 30 years, the complaint alleges.

“I wanted to show solidarity with the country that most reflects the American image”…  Huckabee said he had no qualms about holding the fundraiser at Shiloh in the West Bank, which Israel seized in the 1967 Six-Day War in a move never recognized by the international community… “I don’t see it as occupied,” Huckabee told journalists. “That makes it appear as if someone is illegally taking land. I don’t see it that way.” He referred to the West Bank as Judaea and Samaria, the Biblical kingdoms which Israel also invokes to refer to the territory.

The Palestinian Nakba: A time to remember global indigenous struggles by Ahmad Moussa

Make a donation at our Indiegogo fundraising campaign.

The third wave of the Nakba involves the combination of the constant and permanent military adventures of Israel as a settler colonial state combined with laws and policies that administer and facilitate settler colonialism. This has come to be known as bureaucratic ethnic cleansing aimed at using laws and policies to undermine, disempower, oppress and colonize the Palestinians living both within the enclave and reservation territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip as well as those living inside Israel facing similar laws and policies to those under occupation and colonization. This wave includes the negotations also known as the ‘Peace Process’ as well as the latest ‘recognition’ trend of statehood for the Palestinians as both have been providing more time and distraction tactics for the continued incremental genocide of the Palestinians.

Politicide in Gaza: How Israel’s Far Right Won the War by Max Blumenthal

For Israel’s right-wing rulers and the future leaders of its military, there was no doubt as to what the practice of politicide* achieved during Operation Protective Edge: Haneen Zoabi had been silenced; the leftists were leaving; Gideon Levy could not walk through Tel Aviv without a bodyguard; Palestinians of East Jerusalem were too terrified to travel outside their neighborhoods; and Gaza had been literally flattened. The “people of Israel” had gotten their revenge. Meanwhile, Colonel Winter re-armed and readied for the next round. “I cannot promise you, like the song does, that this will be the last war,” he declared, “but I promise that this war, which is so just, will push the next war a good few years away.”

* “Politicide has three related but distinct meanings. It can mean a gradual but systematic attempt to cause the annihilation of an independent political and social entity,[1] such as the destruction of the apartheid system in South Africa.[2] Others have used the term to mean the deliberate physical destruction of a group whose members share the main characteristic of belonging to a political movement; this definition has been used because the systematic destruction of such groups is not covered asgenocide under the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). The CPPCG only covers the deliberate physical destruction of national, ethnic, racial and religious groups.[3]” ~ Wikipedia
