Venezuela has for years provided “unconditional solidarity” to the Palestinian struggle against “the Israeli genocide,” the Palestinian government said in a statement late on Monday after Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez said the Palestinian people were “an example of resistance for those of us who struggle against imperialism.”

“Since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999, Venezuela has become a voice for historically marginalized peoples, reclaimed social struggles and raised the banners of justice, including for those in Palestine,” Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Maliki said in a statement during a visit to the Venezuelan capital Caracas.

Venezuela’s UN Ambassador Rafael Ramirez inquired whether Israel sought a “final solution” against the Palestinians, referencing the Nazi’s policy of systematically eliminating Jews, during his speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Friday. While condemning Israel for “unlawful settlements,” and “ongoing violence” against the Palestinians, the Jerusalem Post reports, Ramirez asked Security Council members: “What does Israel plans do to with the Palestinians? Will they disappear? Does Israel seek probably to wage a final solution? The sort of solution that was perpetrated against the Jews?”

Venezuelan Social Movements Protest Israeli “Genocide” Outside UN HQ in Caracas by Lucas Koerner

“We are here at the United Nations office in Caracas simply because we cannot remain silent in the face of the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people,” Hindu Andari, spokesperson for the Itinerant Forum of Popular Participation, told venezuelanalysis

Coming on the heels of Venezuela’s commemoration of “indigenous resistance day” on October 12, several present at Wednesday’s protest drew parallels between Palestinian resistance to Israeli colonization and indigenous struggles in South America. “The Venezuelan people survived a similar genocide when Columbus came to America. The Palestinian people are resisting as we resisted, as our indigenous peoples resisted in the face of that [Spanish] genocide. Venezuela cannot be indifferent to this cause,” explains Mercedes “Chelena” Rosa of the Movement of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist Artists.

‘Genocide in Gaza’: Israel’s War One Year On by teleSUR

After the war on Gaza left over 2,200 dead, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas labeled Israel’s treatment of Gaza as a “war of genocide,” during his speech at the U.N. General Assembly in September 2014. Below we remember the victims of that war and the solidarity offered.

Israel denounced as UN’s Gaza report presented by Kristoff Saunders

Israel was denounced as “racist” and a “terror organization” during a fiery meeting of the UN Human Rights Council on Monday.

The representatives of Saudi Arabia and Venezuela were castigated for their language as the council was presented with the findings of an independent inquiry into last year’s Gaza conflict.

Saudi Arabia’s representative in Geneva, Faisal bin Hassan Trad, referred to Israel as a “racist regime” and, after being warned to use “proper language”, added that the actions of Israel during the 51-day conflict amounted to “more than racism”.

Venezuelan ambassador Felix Pena Ramos said Israel had acted as a “terrorist organization” and accused the country of perpetrating genocide against Palestinians.

Cease Fire, Resume Genocide: An interview with Dr. Jacob Smith* by Justin Podur

Dr. Jacob Smith (name changed) is a North American physician who has visited Gaza several times, working at several hospitals there in both clinical and training roles. I spoke with him about the medical system in Gaza and the state of Gaza under the current, post August-2014 intensified siege…

The people within Gaza are motivated, determined to be independent and have their own health care system that they develop and that they optimize. The reason this is not happening is solely because of the occupation and a blockade that forbids supplies, and rather than the very rapid genocidal campaign of the war, after the ceasefire none of the conditions have been respected.

South American Women’s Solidarity and Struggle with the Palestinian People!

The group of women CLOC-Via Campesina South America consists of delegates from organizations in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, gathered from 12 to 16 July in the city of Quito, denouncing the Israeli state and its US ally, who in recent weeks have heightened militarism and expansionism in its imperial attempt to extinguish the liberation of Palestine, which is nothing but a genocide against a people.

Rural women demand respect for the principle of sovereignty and the right of farmers and Palestinian farmers, live, produce and stay on their land and territory. In that sense, echoing the international community express our solidarity against the genocidal invasion and colonial practices exercised by the Zionist state of Israel, which has proven to be a systematic violator of human rights and the resolutions of Nations United regarding Palestine.

Palestine is now a symbol of courage, wisdom and strength in their struggle for land, so we call to mobilize in embassies and lobbying with States to speak out for Palestine, for the life of men, mainly women and children who are being killed daily by Zionism.

To live in a world with less desilgualdad and peace, it is necessary to denounce the abuses suffered by the people of the world and even more so, genocide which is subjected to the Palestinian people. The, popular world social movements have to raise their voice of protest against the slaughter perpetrated in Palestine, seeing that Western governments are mostly silent accomplices in this action.

Venezuela condemns Israeli ‘genocide’ and ‘extermination’

President Nicolas Maduro has maintained the foreign policy of his firebrand predecessor Hugo Chavez, who was popular in the Arab world and broke relations with Israel after accusing it of “holocaust” for its 2009 offensive in Gaza. Israel’s latest attacks have “initiated a higher phase of its policy of genocide and extermination with the ground invasion of Palestinian territory, killing innocent men, women, girls and boys,” a Venezuelan government statement said…

Venezuela called for the United Nations‘ human rights body to meet and condemn Israel. “Venezuela also rejects the cynical campaigns trying to condemn both parties equally, when it is clear you cannot morally compare occupied and massacred Palestine with the occupying state, Israel, which also possesses military superiority and acts on the margins of international law.”

Bolivia rejects Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people

Bolivian Foreign Ministry also calls on the international community to intervene to stop “the genocide” and stressed that “should respect and comply with international agreements and treaties.” The Foreign Ministry also expressed concern about the operation called “[Protective] Edge” that has killed more than 80 Palestinian civilians, including children, adolescents and women, and injured more than 500.

“We urge you to investigate and punish the crimes committed by Israel in this region, in the framework of international law, human rights and international humanitarian law,” the statement said.

Bolivia joins the call of the people of Alba, who strongly condemned the cruelty against the Palestinian people, as a human slaughter has described President Mahmoud Abbas. Venezuela recently criticized Israel for bombing Gaza… and asked the mediation of international organizations.
