About 2000 people rallied in Sydney on February 23 to protest the federal government hosting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and its support for Israel’s latest land grabs.

Uncle Ken Canning said: “The same murderous colonial mentality that is killing Palestinians landed here in 1788 and decimated us to 2.7% of the population. It is little wonder that [Prime Minister Malcolm] Turnbull welcomes Netanyahu, they are twin brothers in genocide.”

Saving Palestine’s Children under The Arms Trade Treaty by Dr. Vacy Vlazna

The lives of Palestine’s children should be better protected since 24 December 2014, when he Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)  became binding in international law requiring states to end  the transfer of arms that would be used in war crimes and genocide:

Article 6: 3. A State Party shall not authorize any transfer of conventional arms covered under Article 2 (1) or of items covered under Article 3 or Article 4, if it has knowledge at the time of authorization that the arms or items would be used in the commission of genocide, crimes against humanity, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, attacks directed against civilian objects or civilians protected as such, or other war crimes as defined by international agreements to which it is a Party.

Students for Justice in Palestine at Sydney University condemns unprovoked violence against peaceful protest

“I find it deeply disturbing that violence was used against students engaging in peaceful protest,” said Christopher Warren, SJP Treasurer. “Views that normalise genocide and defend war crimes should be consistently challenged at every opportunity.” SJP is committed to opposing Israeli war crimes, and will continue to express our right to peaceful demonstration against genocide apologists on campus.
