Cosign SJP at UW-Madison’s Anti-Zionist Chalking Statement by Students for Justice in Palestine

Criticism of the zionist settler-colonial project, as well as the organizations on campus who have consistently demonstrated their support for it, is absolutely valid and necessary. The University of Wisconsin-Madison currently occupies ancestral Ho-Chunk land, an occupation only made possible through centuries of ethnic cleansing and genocide. The brutal history of the “United States” is similar to that of “Israel” in its subjugation, exploitation, dehumanization, and genocide of those who stand in their way of mass theft of land from indigenous peoples.

CUNY Law faculty, several law orgs, endorse student’s BDS resolution against Israel on The Arab American News

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

Law school faculty at a major university in New York has joined the ranks of educational and professional organizations supporting the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) and recognition of Palestinian rights… The resolution calls for a boycott of Israeli apartheid government and Israeli companies that take advantage of and support Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine, thereby systematically ending long standing relationships between major U.S. colleges like CUNY and those occupation entities. In doing so, the resolution calls out CUNY’s complicity “in the ongoing apartheid, genocide, and war crimes perpetrated by the state of Israel against the Palestinian people through its investments in and contracts with companies profiting off of Israeli war crimes.”

“When it comes down to it, it’s whether or not you support war, whether or not you support genocide, whether or not you support apartheid, occupation,” Abulaban, a senior psychology major, told The Phoenix. “That’s what it comes down to. I don’t think anyone can disagree — no one wants war.”

We Should Join SJP’s Boycott of Zionist Classes by Rawan Abbas

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The op-ed claimed that SJP spread misinformation to “intimidate,” “coerce,” and even “demonize” students. The usage of this language implies that students were forced or threatened when, in fact, SJP participated in common political campaign efforts relying on social media and flyers spread on campus. Actual coercion occurs when one party exercises structural power over another. Coercion occurs when recorded history is erased through academia, when the indigenous people of Palestine are called an “Arab minority,” when settler colonialism is reduced to a “conflict,” or when genocide and ethnic cleansing is referred to as simply a “loss of Palestinian village life.”

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

SJP student organizers said actions in support of Palestine include calling local politicians, looking into the Boycott Divestment Sanctions movement and demanding university divestment from companies that fund weapon manufacturers.

Layan Alnajjar, a fifth-semester marketing major, was one of the students who vocalized her beliefs, and during her speech, she encouraged people and institutions to stop funding corporations that make weapons that aid in the destruction of Palesteninan people… “I spoke today because I just feel that no one at UConn knows what’s going on. No one knows how UConn is taking their tuition and funding it toward genocide,” Alnajjar said in an interview after the event.

Students for Justice in Palestine: Holding Andrew Yang accountable on The Daily Northwestern

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

We walked out to call attention to Yang’s vocalized support of the state of Israel, which came during a time when the Israeli government was carrying out large-scale violence against Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and Gaza. We walked out because Yang refuses to condemn Israel’s war crimes and apartheid policies — specifically its forced evictions and ethnic cleansing, which are key markers of the genocide against Palestinians.

Tampa students arrested for protesting on campus on FightBack! News

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

“USF and the police demonstrated another act against the voices of students,” stated Laith Hader of the USF chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). “I was there to give a speech about USF’s record of suppressing voices of pro-Palestine activists. Many of those who speak out against the Israeli system of apartheid and genocide are being doxed, fired from their jobs, investigated or interrogated by the state, and are falsely framed as anti-Semitic, all while neo-Nazis and white supremacists are given their ‘free speech’ without any repercussions from the state or its institutions.”

Students for Justice in Palestine use art to further social justice initiatives on The Minnesota Daily

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

… the art provoked important conversations about how Israeli occupation and apartheid impacts Palestinians, and how Palestinians create art through that struggle. “Palestinians creating art is commentary on the fact that we are here and resisting occupation, apartheid and genocide in unexpected and creative ways. And that’s important to think about,” Shehadeh said.

The “Deal of the Century” and the Death of the Two-State Solution by Students for Justice in Palestine

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Settler colonialism is “an ongoing system of power that perpetuates the genocide and repression of indigenous peoples and cultures” while normalizing the settler’s occupation and exploitation of the land and resources. The disastrous effects of settler colonialism are evident not only in Israel, but in other settler-colonial states such as Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Opinion: ASU Clubs should sign Pro-Palestine BDS resolution by Alexia Isais, November 2019

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

ASU is part of a long list of universities that are invested in Israel and have not recognized the systematic genocide occurring at the hands of the Israeli government.
To change this, the ASU chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine has been at the forefront of this struggle at the University. The organization is encouraging student clubs to sign a BDS resolution, and student clubs should sign this resolution because it would expose the human rights violations being committed by Israel toward Palestinians.
