In Gaza BDS gives us hope by the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC)

PLEASE TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND SEND YOUR LETTER TO THE UN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON THE PREVENTION OF GENOCIDE AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT PROSECUTOR.

For us Indigenous Palestinians, the growing impact of the BDS movement is one of our main beacons of hope. A former UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, Richard Falk, described the siege of Gaza as “prelude to genocide.” While UN reports predicted that Gaza would be uninhabitable by 2020, over two million Palestinians in Gaza continue to live under inhumane conditions of immense suffering and deprivation.

Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Event Report: Genocide Memorial Day 2022 on Hawzah News Agency

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Raza Kazim, the Chair of IHRC Trust, introduced the event remembering the Commemoration of the Genocide Memorial Day by IHRC. Kazim noted that ‘the theme of this year’s GMD is “How states sanitise genocide and genocidal acts.” Considering that this GMD is commemorated on the anniversary on the end of Operation Cast Lead, a genocidal act committed by the Tel Aviv regime in 2008-2009 it is appropriate to mention the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu labelled this Tel Aviv regime as worse than the Apartheid regime of South Africa. The word Apartheid, amongst other things, symbolizes the process of dehumanizing a people which creates the environment for genocidal acts to take place.

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds:

We are a Gaza-based band playing music and singing songs of freedom, love, peace and justice. we have not  been able to leave Gaza for the last 11 years, thanks to Israel’s genocidal siege, condemned by mainstream Human Rights Organizations and described by the likes of Richard Falk as “a prelude to genocide.”

All we are asking is for progressive artists to respect the Palestinian Civil Society Call for a boycott of Israel until it complies with international law. is that too much to ask?

UN Gaza Report Part II: Israel’s Counterinsuurgency Apologist: Colonel Richard Kemp by Richard Falk

Parroting the worst elements of Israeli hasbara, Kemp sets forth this grotesque characterization of Hamas tactics: “Unable to inflict existential harm on Israel by military means, Hamas sought to cause large numbers of casualties among its own people in order to bring condemnation and unbearable diplomatic pressure against Israel.” To make such an extreme allegation without bothering to cite evidence is to portray Hamas as seeking the genocidal annihilation of its own people… David Swanson, the noted anti-war activist, titles his review of Blumenthal’s book, “the 51-day Genocide” As Swanson puts it in his review of the book, “I can think of a few other words that characterized the 2014 assault on Gaza in addition to ‘war,’ among them, occupation, murder-spree, and genocide. Each serves a valuable purpose. Each is correct.”

People’s tribunals, and the roots of civil society justice by Richard Falk

Most recently, in September 2014, in response to the Israeli attack on Gaza, given the name Operation Protective Edge, the Russell Foundation convened an event in Brussels in which a jury of conscience listened to evidence, and particularly considered charges of ‘genocide’ put forward by critics of the attack…

It should also be observed that the Brussels Tribunal failed to uphold the most serious charge leveled against Israel in relation to Protective Edge, that the massive assault carried out against the defenseless civilian population of Gaza constituted genocide. On the basis of the evidence presented, the jury in Brussels did agree that Israel was guilty of the lesser crime of ‘Incitement to Genocide’ as set forth in Article 3(c) of the Genocide Convention.  It also agreed that the additional treaty duty to prevent genocide had been definitely violated by Israeli behavior during Protective Edge…

Richard Falk: Is Israel Guilty of Genocide in Its Assault on Gaza?

“The presence of genocidal behavior and language, even if used in government circles, is not by itself sufficient to conclude that Protective Edge, despite its enormity, amounted to the commission of the crime of genocide.

What the jury did agree upon, however, was that some Israeli citizens and leaders appear to have been guilty in several instances of the separate crime of incitement to genocide, which is specified in Article 3(c) of the Genocide Convention. It also agreed that the additional duty of Israel and other parties to prevent genocide, especially the United States and Europe, was definitely engaged by Israeli behavior. In this regard, the Russell Tribunal is sending an incriminating message of warning to Israel and an appeal to the UN and the international community to uphold the Genocide Convention, and to prevent any further behavior by Israel that would cross the line.”

U.N. rights investigator accuses Israel of ‘ethnic cleansing’ by Stephanie Nebehay

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Richard Falk, United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, told a news conference that Israeli policies bore “unacceptable characteristics of colonialism, apartheid and ethnic cleansing”.

“Every increment of enlarging the settlements or every incident of house demolition is a way of worsening the situation confronting the Palestinian people and reducing what prospects they might have as the outcome of supposed peace negotiations.”

Asked about his accusation of ethnic cleansing, Falk said that more than 11,000 Palestinians had lost their right to live in Jerusalem since 1996 due to Israel imposing residency laws favouring Jews and revoking Palestinian residence permits. “The 11,000 is just the tip of the iceberg because many more are faced with possible challenges to their residency rights.”
