SJP Loyola About Page Charges Israel with Genocide of the Palestinian People

As an advocacy group, SJP is committed to a core set of principles to which it expects its members to adhere. SJP believes that while the Palestinian people must ultimately be able to decide their future in Palestine, certain key principles, grounded in international law, human rights, and basic standards of justice, are fundamental to a just resolution of the plight of the Palestinians. These include the full decolonization of all illegally held Palestinian lands, the end of the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. SJP aims to struggle against human rights violations, aggression, war crimes, and genocide inflicted on the Palestinian people.

A Jewish-American perspective on Zionism and Israel-Palestine by Sinead Lamel

In hindsight, many Americans will admit that the Vietnam and Iraq wars were colossal and devastating mistakes, yet the prolonged silence of American citizens allowed for the deaths of millions of innocent citizens. Lest we let our silence and inaction lead to genocide, Americans, especially Jewish Americans, must begin changing the narrative around Israel… Would we call the violent resistance of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto terrorism?) Americans remain supportive of Israel, giving them three billion dollars in aid a year; meanwhile, it is becoming clear that Israel is attempting to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.

Derry Journal: Sinn Féin MEP, Martina Anderson denied access to Gaza

“The Israeli Government continue to oppress the Palestinian people by attacking them in the economic, cultural and political sphere’s, yet we remain resolute in our will to bring this to the attention of the rest of the world, which is precisely, why MEPs are being denied the opportunity to witness for themselves the genocide that was committed in Gaza.”

Berkeley Voice letters: Curtis V. Manning

Israel has subjected the Palestinian people to ethnic cleansing and ongoing genocide — killing, destroying homes and farms, food crops, and assassinating their politicians. No wonder the Palestinians don’t like the Israelis.

Artists from around United Kingdom rally to Palestinian cause

“We absolutely cannot plead ignorance of the fact that this is genocide of the Palestinian people. The one-sided, often blatantly wrong reportage in the west is not just about bad journalism and ugly domestic agendas this sort of response to injustice to protect the economic and political status quo fosters a loveless world. If the footage of wounded children and their desperate parents, bombings of schools and funerals that reaches us every few hours, can’t open our hearts and show us the consequences of apathy and playing political over human agendas then it is a scary time we live in,” Rita Kalnejais, theatre and film writer was quoted as saying.

Group protests faith event focusing on Israel

Several organizations protested the Israel Summit on Wednesday evening at Resurrection Fellowship by gathering outside the church… Pastor Jonathan Wiggins of Resurrection Fellowship said Wednesday that the summit, “will afford attendees the opportunity to show solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people as a unifying expression of our faith in the God of the Bible.” However, several groups in support of Palestine challenged those advocating for Israel because of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.

Charles Carlson with “We Hold These Truths” and “Project Strait Gate” said in a Wednesday interview, “What this summit essentially does is unequivocally support actions of Israel no matter what they did.” He noted the deaths of more than 2,000 people, mostly civilians, from Israeli attacks in 2014 responding to rocket launches there. “We are not just concerned about Palestinian Christians but all Palestinian people,” Carlson said. “I’ve been in Gaza. I am very familiar with what I’m talking about. This is an ongoing continuous action of genocide that happens every three to four years.”

UC Santa Cruz Students for Justice in Palestine: “Dialogue has no meaning while apartheid and genocide continue.”

The organization “A Wider Bridge” is one element of a concerted effort by the state of Israel to erase its ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people by portraying itself as a tolerant, modern haven for queer people and a prime site for LGBT tourism, including study abroad programs. Participating in a study abroad program in Israel means participating in the ongoing apartheid and genocide of the Palestinian people. Do not become co-opted by Israel to cover for its violent and oppressive policies.

We are not interested in a dialogue with organizations such as A Wider Bridge and Slugs for Israel. Dialogue has no meaning while apartheid and genocide continue.

Pro-Palestinian activists disrupt New York City Council meeting

Protesters in the balcony of the Council chamber unfurled a Palestinian flag and began yelling “Palestinian lives matter,” “Don’t support genocide,” and “Melissa, you’re a hypocrite,” a slam on Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, who will lead the Israel delegation…

“I’m a Jewish New Yorker. I live in the Bronx, and I do not support so-called progressive City Council members taking a trip to Israel. It is a trip to legitimize the discriminatory practices of Israel,” said Pam Sporn of the group Jewish Voice for Peace.

Protester Nastaran Mohit said it was hypocritical for pols who push for racial justice to support the Jewish state’s actions. “If you want to do a die in on the steps of City Hall saying black lives matter, then Palestinian lives matter as well.”

Letter of Support from the BDS National Committee (BNC) for the Israel Genocide? Campaign

Dear friends, organizers of the Israel Genocide? Campaign,

The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) welcomes and supports your initiative to encourage people worldwide to write to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, and demand that the UN conduct an enquiry into the possibility that Israel may have committed the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people and publish its findings and recommendations.

In light of earlier and alarming findings of independent experts, in particular since Israel’s hermetic siege and separation of the occupied Gaza Strip in 2007 and the consecutive waves of mass killings of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, the BNC considers this initiative, which is directed specifically at the responsible UN personnel, to be important and timely. All, including the former UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the OPT, Prof. Richard Falk, separate Arab League- and UN-led investigations into Israel’s 2008/9 war on Gaza, and the 2014 Russell Tribunal on Palestine special session on Israeli violations of international law in Gaza and elsewhere in the OPT, have all confirmed that Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity have been perpetrated with impunity and, furthermore, that direct and public incitement to genocide by Israeli political, religious and parliamentary leaders have been well documented. Therefore, the UN Office of the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide should be pressured to investigate if Israeli officials are responsible for the crime of genocide, including the crime of incitement to genocide, and to assess and prevent the risk of a future Israeli genocide against (parts of) the Palestinian people.

While supporting the Israel Genocide? Campaign, and irrespective of its results, the BNC calls on campaigners to continue to build public awareness and pressure for holding Israel accountable for its regime of colonialism, apartheid and occupation, including the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in this context against Palestinians since 1948, such as ethnic cleansing and mass killing of civilians.  Both, facts and international law strongly support this approach. Like the crime of genocide, colonialism and the crime of apartheid are internationally prohibited. They also result in similar legal responsibilities: all states and international organizations, such as the United Nations, are to isolate and suppress Israeli apartheid and colonialism, bring responsible individuals to justice, and ensure full reparation for the Palestinian victims.

In solidarity,
Mahmoud Nawajaa
BNC General Coordinator

Statement of Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations on the Situation in the Middle East to the UN Security Council

Colonizing policies and practices of Israel against the Palestinian people must end. Israel must put a definitive end to provocations and incitement to hatred and terror, crimes of aggression, arbitrary detentions, mass imprisonment and genocide against the Palestinian people.
