[Siraj-ul-Haq] said that seven decades have passed but the Kashmir and Palestine issues are not resolved. Indian and Israeli forces are involved in genocide of Kashmiris and Palestinians but international organisations and western powers are constantly silent. “Muslim world is also hesitant to take bold stance and only issuing soft statements on the human rights abuses in the occupied regions.”
Palestinians’ plight is a collective failure of the international community, especially the advocates of democracy and human rights. This has to come to an end, and Gazans especially must be saved from genocide. It is a pity that when the world is moving towards geo-economic amalgamation, Palestinians are a condemned and cajoled community. Will someone with conscience stand up for them?

“The National Assembly calls upon the UN Secretary General to establish an independent inquiry tribunal to investigate the crime of genocide by the apartheid Israeli regime against the Palestinian people,” said the joint resolution. It was read out by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the floor of the lower house of the Parliament.
Former chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Monday said the Israeli state terrorism in Gaza was no less than Holocaust. He was commenting on the response of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and foreign ministers of the OIC on the Israeli state terrorism against Palestinians… He said Palestinian children were being murdered and an ethnic genocide was being carried out while entire world including the Muslim Ummah watch as silent spectators.
Indeed, on several occasions Pakistan has probed the possibility of normalizing relations with Israel, only to pull back for fear of reaction by its people and the reactions of its Gulf benefactors. Now these benefactors are lining up to recognize Israel for fear of Iran, and because of their existential dependence on their own benefactor, the US, which is pushing them to do so. It is only a matter of time before Saudi Arabia does so. It will expect Pakistan to follow suit.
But there are arguments against recognizing Israel. The Palestinian problem for non-Arab Muslims, including Pakistanis, is not just an Arab problem; it is much more a Muslim or Ummah issue. It is the direct outcome of Western colonialism and Western-abetted Jewish settlement, conquest and repression of a predominantly Muslim people, the majority of whom were expelled and compelled to leave their homeland, where the third holiest site for Muslims is located. All this legally fits the crime of genocide.

“We want to remind the OIC that post 5th August 2019 New Delhi has launched a full scale and multidimensional onslaught to change the demography and Muslim majority character of the territory with slew of colonial executive orders and executions. The changing ground realities are seriously pointing towards the fact that Kashmir is just going to be a Palestine, a Bosnia and a Burma in the making. We deeply sense the plans of genocide on all fronts,” the spokesman added.
Indian atrocities in IOK and its policies to facilitate a demographic shift in Kashmir itself by bringing in more Hindus from India to settle into Kashmir are mirrored in how Israel consistently ethnically cleanses Palestinians, by building settlements, taking over their homes and quelling dissent as part of a larger bid to remove the Palestinian footprint.
In this environment, the international community and the UN, in particular, need to acknowledge the impending dangers of genocide and ethnic cleansing together with the dangers of setting up precedents for their own downfall.

Washington continued to patronise Israel encouraging its usurpation of more Arab land, creating more illegal settlements, displacing more Palestinians and ruthlessly pursuing its policy of apartheid and acting in defiance of international law and UN resolutions. In reward for its policy of genocide and international law violation, Washington provides it annual assistance of more than $3 billion.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his address to the annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session on September 27, compared the years 1939 and 2019 by linking policy of appeasement, particularly pursued by Britain, to appease Nazi Germany despite its occupation of Czechoslovakia and Austria. In 2019, the international community led by major powers is appeasing Israel and India despite their repeated aggression in Palestine and Kashmir.
The policy of appeasement is no guarantee for peace but is a recipe for war because covering up acts of aggression and genocide only cause more violence and bloodshed.
