Buffalo solidarity with Palestine by Nigel Bouvart

Activists from Workers World Party, Democratic Socialists of America and Food Not Bombs gathered in Buffalo, New York, Aug. 24, in solidarity with Palestine against Israeli occupation and terrorism… Demonstrators chanted “Palestine is on our side, Zionism is genocide!” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Speakers drew connections between institutional racism, by the carceral system at home, and the genocide of Palestinians, and they called on the U.S. to cease arming and funding the Israeli settler-colonial regime and to stop sending its police, a terroristic occupying force, to Israel for training.

Al-Awda NY exposes settler Yaakov Fauci outside his Long Island home, demands closure of New York groups promoting colonization, ethnic cleansing, and genocide in Palestine on Al-Awda NY

Al-Awda NY took a message of justice and accountability to the home of notorious Long Island extremist Zionist settler Justin “Yaakov” Fauci. Fauci moved from New York to invade and steal Palestinian lands including the Al-Kurd family home and became notorious for publicly admitting his crime when he stated, “If I don’t steal it, someone else is gonna” as he invaded the Palestinian home.

“It is a violation of U.S. federal law for Americans to engage in war crimes and genocide, it is shocking that there is impunity for such open acts of violence, and it is outrageous that New York State actively shelters, promotes and celebrates such violence, which is itself also a crime,” said attorney Lamis Deek.

The truth is that America has been a nationalist country for a long, long time. Our country has a habit of making itself the world police. We destabilize governments that go too far left through coups; we place embargos on socialist countries; we blindly support an apartheid state in the middle east that is actively committing genocide on Palestinian people while breaking international law to do it. And most of us don’t care. Most Americans are willing to turn a blind eye to American imperialism and war crimes because “America doesn’t do that. America is the good guy.” But we’re not.

As Palestinians Worldwide Mark 68 Years Of Exile, The Nakba Continues To Unfold by Joe Catron

For Palestinians marking the Nakba, it signifies not only a historical event, but also an ongoing process that continues to expel and enclose millions. And global outpourings each Nakba Day demonstrate the determination of millions to return to their homes, however many generations removed. “It is acknowledging the means in which Israel came to be — ethnic cleansing, genocide, and colonialism — and affirming it has no right to exist as a state built on the deaths and backs of our ancestors,” Kiswani said. “The strongest message we send in Nakba Day commemorations is that we will not forget, and we will return.”
