Palestinian Premier Mohammad Shtayyeh… said: “The aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip is organized state terrorism, and an attempt to export the internal crisis that the extremist government of Israel is facing, and a practical translation of the doctrine of killing, arson and genocide, which those in power in Israel have long professed. The aggression against the strip is an extension of the catastrophe that befell our people in 1948…”

Minnesotans march on 74th anniversary of Al Nakba by Meredith Aby-Keirstead

“The United States gives the Israeli apartheid state around $4 billion in military aid every single year. Aid that is used to raid refugee camps. Aid that is used to hold Palestinian political prisoners. Aid that is used to seize homes and land. Aid that is used to kill journalists. Aid that props up apartheid and genocide. President Joe Biden is on record saying, ‘America’s support for Israel’s security is unshakable, period.’”

Ibrahim: The fight for Palestinian liberation unifies marginalized populations by Sara Ibrahim

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Jarring pictures and videos of human rights abuses — such as Israeli settlers forcing Palestinians to break and leave their homes and chanting “Death to Arabs,” “The 2nd Nakba is coming soon” and “A good Arab is a dead one” — have been able to circulate through social media channels. Conversation about the Palestinian plight has been easier to tap into.

Social media has also normalized the use of certain terms such as “ethnic cleansing,” “settler colonialism,” “forced displacement,” “genocide” and “apartheid,” which are terms that were previously not widely used in discourse about Palestine. Describing the genocide as a “conflict” is becoming more rejected as the word implies that both sides are on equal footing, when there is a clear colonizer and colonized, oppressor and oppressed.

Palestinian Nakba Day Commemorated in DC Amid Israeli Aggression on The DC Post

DC-based political analyst and policy advisor Mohammed Khader, who attended the rally, calls the Nakba “one of the largest planned ethnic cleansings in modern history.”

“For decades, Palestinians have been dehumanized under apartheid and forcibly displaced from their land by US-funded efforts,” Khader told The DC Post. “As a Palestinian, I attended the rally to join thousands of Palestinians, along with those in solidarity with Palestine, in the streets of DC to demand the US Government sanction Israel for their crimes against humanity, stand against the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and call for an end to the ongoing Nakba, which has been sustained under Israeli apartheid and the occupation of Palestine.”

Describing President Joe Biden’s silence as “extremely loud” for not openly calling for a ceasefire, Khader likened the US government’s current stance to “the same misguided approach taken during the Rwandan Genocide, where US officials explicitly refused to label it a genocide because it meant they would be required to act. Like what Reagan was to South Africa, what Clinton was to Rwanda, and what the US was to Cambodia.”

Ending the ongoing Palestinian Nakba #KeyToJustice by the Palestinian BDS National Committee

Israel and the Zionist movement had hoped that Palestinians would one day “forget,” but by perpetrating every imaginable crime against us, they inadvertently made sure that we never do. The siege and what Israeli historian Ilan Pappe calls the “incremental genocide” of two million in the Gaza ghetto; the ceaseless theft of our lands and forcible displacement of our communities, particularly in Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and the Naqab (Negev); the endless colonial settlements; and the overarching apartheid system that relentlessly reminds us that we, the indigenous people of the land, can only achieve freedom, justice or equality after ending this ruthless Israeli regime of oppression.
