UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, International Criminal Court Prosecutor, International Court of Justice President: Investigate the Possibility that Israel is Committing the Crime of Genocide Against the Indigenous Palestinian People.
‘Never again’ has become ‘yet again’. Yet again to supremacy. Yet again to racism. And yet again to genocide. And sadly, never again has become yet again for the weaponization of the bible and the silence and complicity of the Western church. Yet again for the church siding with power, the church siding with empire. So today after all this, of total destruction, annihilation, and Gaza is erased unfortunately, millions have become refugees and homeless, tens of thousands killed; and why is anyone still debating whether this is a genocide or not?
“Easter has come upon us, in Palestine, in the most difficult circumstances. It has been 175 days since this genocide began. 175 days of bombardment, siege, and starvation. I would have never thought that we would still be witnessing this by Easter. I thought, surely, this violence would have stopped by now. I thought world leaders do have some conscience at the end of the day. I was wrong.”
Christ Under the Rubble: We are angry, we are broken. This should have been a time of joy, instead we are mourning, we are fearful. More than 20,000 killed, thousands are still under the rubble, close to 9,000 children killed in the most brutal ways, day after day, 1.9 million displaced, hundreds of thousands of homes destroyed. Gaza as we know it no longer exists. This is an annihilation. This is a genocide. The world is watching. Churches are watching. The people of Gaza are sending live images of their own execution. Maybe the world cares, but it goes on. We are asking here, could this be our fate- in Bethlehem, in Ramallah, in Janeen?
