Hundreds of Italians have signed an online petition slamming Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip as a “slow genocide” of the Palestinians and demanding a “Nuremberg trial” for Israel over the “destruction” of Palestine. The petition was signed by 525 Italians, mainly academics, Haaretz reported. The signees say they are dismayed by the events in Gaza and accuse Israel of pursuing colonial policies and “ethnic cleansing” of the Palestinians. The document calls for Israel to face an international tribunal, a Nuremberg-like trial, for its war crimes and the “slow genocide” of the Palestinian people… The online document also blames the US for supporting Israel, and the EU for “active or passive complicity” in Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people. The petition signees also accuse the United Nations of its failure to stop Israel. The Western media, according to activists, paints the events in the wrong light, justifying the Israeli offensive in Gaza as a self-defense operation.

Called ‘Noi Accusiamo’ (We Accuse), the petition was initially published on an academic website…

Genocide in Gaza: Global outrage, resistance and a wider war? by Ashahed M. Muhammad

A massive march and rally was held outside the White House in Washington, D.C., drawing thousands protesting Israel’s genocidal military assault against the Palestinian people, and the U.S. government’s financial military support… “We watch in horror as Israeli occupation forces destroyed mosques, schools, hospitals, agricultural areas, industries, and even the only power station in Gaza. We ask people of conscience to contact media and politicians to ensure that Israel is not immune from compliance with International Humanitarian Law. We also ask for expansion of campaigns of boycotts, divestment, and sanctions (BDS). Hundreds of thousands around the world demonstrated for Gaza and we are grateful. But more actions at this stage are needed to prevent large-scale genocide and human catastrophe in Gaza,” Prof. Mazin Qumsiyeh noted.

A deputy speaker of a parliament writes to his prime minister and party leader and publicly proposes what I see as a plan for genocide. This project involves turning a piece of occupied territory with 1.8 million people into a city of his own country, for his own people. Those who “insist” on staying, he argues, will be asked to sign an oath of loyalty to their new masters.

Tunisians protest UN position on Israeli war against Gaza

Dozens of Tunisian citizens and supporters of a number of political parties and associations arranged a protest, on Tuesday, in front of the headquarters of the United Nations in Tunisia to denounce what they called the UN’s “biased position” and to condemn the “crimes” committed by Israel in its war against the Gaza Strip, Anadolu news agency reported… The protest was attended by representatives of the following groups: the Islamic Renaissance Movement, Popular Front, Social Democratic Path, Unity for Tunisia, Democratic Women’s Association, and the National Solicitors Association… The protesters also delivered a message to the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in Tunisia, demanding it to “take all necessary measures against Israel for the results caused by Israel’s crimes of genocide and massacres in the Gaza Strip”.

Is Israel thinking of genocide? by Zhao Jinglun

I have not yet felt it necessary to use that terrible word, but what the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is doing in Gaza comes pretty close. One of Israel’s largest-circulation newspapers, the Times of Israel, actually published an article entitled “When Genocide is Permissible.” Though the article was later withdrawn, and an apology was issued, it shows that some influential Israelis are thinking about a “final solution” to the Palestinian problem.

Vlogger Johnny TheMUSICmaN: GAZA! Israeli Occupation And Palestinian Genocide!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBwdGP-jWj8]

“The moral world of humanity must now hold Israel’s political and military factions solely responsible for the genocidal ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people… Israel must be held accountable for its illegal actions and crimes against humanity! Killing poor defenseless men, women and children is a deplorable, unspeakable atrocity. This video outlines the only possible proposal that could and will lead to an accord between the Palestinians and Israels. This war was an outright attempt to destroy the civilian population which is inexcusable. It was an act of terrorism and must be treated as such. A land force with boots on the ground would have been sufficient enough to destroy Hamas. But, the fear of a hand to hand battle between Israeli soldiers and Hamas would have dramatically increased the possibility of Jewish deaths, so they took the easy way out!”

Assault on Gaza—Rafah, a Case Study: Israeli’s Adeptness at Genocide by Norman Pollack

Children bloodied, on gurneys in hallways, parents moaning, holding a dead child—if one applied a moral calculus, what is worse, the infliction of the death and pain, or insensitivity to the commission of the act, whether done by oneself or by others in one’s name? To call itself The Jewish State, Israel legitimates genocide in the name of G-d.

Such commonality reminds me of one particular and quite thought-provoking photo I saw posted on an Instagram thread.  It was a double framed shot that on one side depicted a 1930 public lynching of two Black men in Marion, Indiana.  As their lifeless bodies dangled in thin air, they were surrounded by “good white folk” smiling for the camera, enjoying their day’s kill of Strange Fruit.  The other half of the double-framed shot captured a small gathering of Israeli citizens seated comfortably on a hill.

As entertainment, they had gathered under a nighttime moonlight to watch Israeli airstrikes light up the Gaza skyline.  With beaming smiles and cheering hands, they were obviously enjoying the view of deadly bombs and destruction reigning on the backs of Palestinians from above.

Academic Paper: International Law, Israel and Palestine by Professor John Dugard

Ethnic cleansing is one of the most heinous of international crimes. It is certainly a crime against humanity and it may constitute genocide. The ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the newly formed state of Israel in 1948 was originally portrayed by Israel as the “voluntary departure ”of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to neighbouring states. Today the historical record of the Nakba has been more carefully scrutinized by Ilan Pappe ( The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine ( 2006)) – and others and there can be no doubt that Israel in a cruel and calculated manner drove some 750,000 Palestinians from their homes by a process of terror and violence.
… The West, and particularly Western Europe, is acutely aware of the sufferings of the Palestinian people and the injustices of the situation. European missions in Ramallah and East Jerusalem report accurately to their governments on the situation as do many European-based NGOs. These governments show their concern by funding humanitarian projects in Palestine on a large scale. European public opinion is also largely sympathetic to the Palestinian cause and support NGOs working on humanitarian programmes in the region. Without this assistance Palestine would not survive.

The children of Gaza and the profit being made from their genocide by Heathcote Williams

As Israel violates its own ‘ceasefire’ to murder yet another child in Gaza City, the poet Heathcote Williams delves into aspects of Israel, Palestine and the lethal war now under way that rarely surface in the mainstream discourse – and amid the horror, cruelty and rising tide of fascism, finds grounds for long term hope… Israel’s soldiers’ strength is misused to produce genocide, as well as a scorched policy whereby 800,000 olive trees in Occupied Palestine are destroyed to drive Palestinian farmers from their land, and whereby their homes are bombed to smithereens.
