Councillor Emmet McAleer, Independent expressed concern at the United States at that stage blocking adoption of a United Nations Security Council statement which was: “Calling for a halt to the Israeli violence in Palestine … It talks of the de-escalation of violence in respect for international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, especially children. It voices concerns at the crisis in Gaza and evictions of Palestinian families, and opposing unilateral actions likely to further escalate tensions.” He continued: “At a previous meeting we talked of the ongoing slaughter, the genocide that’s being doled out by Israel, funded by the United States. We learned President Joe Biden, who we had so much hope for but is delivering so little, has approved another $735 million in special munitions weapons to Israel. This is facilitating and permitting state-sanctioned violence and ethnic cleansing.”

On the 26th July 2014, Israel massacred over 190 innocent men, women and children and injured thousands in just 24 hours.
This was the most brutal of all the attacks throughout the Israeli genocide on Gaza in the summer of 2014 which resulted in over 2,200 people murdered of which 551 were children. Below are the names of the 190 people killed that day.

People Before Profit unequivocally condemns the Israeli Apartheid state’s proposed annexation of 30% of the Palestinian West Bank.
This latest act of Zionist violence and oppression against the Palestinian people has clearly been given the green light by the US and President Trump in his misnamed ‘peace plan’ proclaimed earlier this year. It marks a significant escalation in the ongoing genocidal policy of occupation and ethnic cleansing inaugurated by Israel in the Nakba of 1948.

Mr President, Ms Mogherini has criticised illegal Israeli settlements at times, and rightly so, but the EU has refused to take decisive action against Israel. We have no control over the fact that the US allows them to be lawless in how they treat the Palestinians. Truth be told, Israel practises apartheid at home and genocide in Palestine.

Frank Adam in his latest letter from Manchester denies that Israel commits genocide in Palestine yet prominent scholars of international law and human rights authorities take the position that Israel’s policies toward the Palestinian people do indeed constitute a form of genocide.

I found this little video on YouTube of Irish MP Richard Boyd Barrett reading out horrifically vile statements from Israeli ministers from 2014 and 2015. The video was posted in 2015, and comes from the Questions to the Taoiseach in the Dail, the Irish parliament… Barrett makes the point that these are official statements of the-then current government of Israel, including the advocacy of genocide, including children, and calling them snakes.

Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada has called for the ending of all EU funding to Israel. “Israel must be completely excluded from receiving any funding for research and development,” she said. “Every penny that they have received under the research and development scheme, which they have egregiously abused, makes the EU complicit in each and every murder Israel has carried out since 2000. That’s over 10,000 Palestinians. More than 2000 of them children. The EU’s Horizon 2020 is the biggest research and development programme in the world, with €80billion dedicated to it since 2014. Israel is allowed to take part in the programme on the basis of the EU-Israel association agreement, signed in 2000. An outrageous agreement that we warned two decades would only give legitimacy to Israel’s campaign of genocide.

Regev, explained human rights activists, “has a long history of excusing, apologising and justifying [Israel’s] murder, torture and genocide as well as land theft from the indigenous population of Palestine.” They accused the library — which appears only to have disclosed Regev’s attendance after the event, fearing public outrage — of going “against everything the Linen Hall has stood for” and demanded an investigation into how the Israeli Ambassador was allowed to address the community in Belfast in such an “underhanded” way.
