The Genocide of the Palestinian People: An International Law and Human Rights Perspective by Center for Constitutional Rights

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

While there has been recent criticism of those taking the position that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians, there is a long history of human rights scholarship and legal analysis that supports the assertion. Prominent scholars of the international law crime of genocide and human rights authorities take the position that Israel’s policies toward the Palestinian people could constitute a form of genocide. Those policies range from the 1948 mass killing and displacement of Palestinians to a half-century of military occupation and, correspondingly, the discriminatory legal regime governing Palestinians, repeated military assaults on Gaza, and official Israeli statements expressly favoring the elimination of Palestinians.

Apartheid Israel And Apartheid Australia Violate All Articles Of UN Declaration On The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples by Dr Gideon Polya

Apartheid Australia and Apartheid Australia-backed Apartheid Israel have appalling, continuing records of violating the human rights of their Indigenous Peoples through the Australian Aboriginal Genocide and the Palestine Genocide, respectively, and must be held to account by the civilized world through Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) for their genocidal crimes and for currently violating all 46 Articles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The UN General Assembly’s 61st regular session overwhelmingly voted for the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) on 13 September 2007.

BDS Zurich to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide: “We are asking you to investigate the possibility of genocide taking place against the Palestinian people.”

25 November, 2014

To the U.N. Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide,

Months after Israel’s assault on Gaza, we are still extremely concerned about the situation in Palestine. As we still haven’t seen any official actions being taken, we are asking you to investigate the possibility of genocide taking place against the Palestinian people.

The declaration made by the General Assembly of the United Nations defining the crime of genocide should be a guide for the proceeding actions and not used as a justification against the Human Rights of the Palestinians.

Impunity for crimes committed against the native people of Palestine are the source of the conflict leading to countless negative side-effects in the region. We don’t accept the continuation of these crimes and the impunity of the perpetrators that have been tolerated for decades. It is time to apply the justice system and legality to Israel and to start holding accountable those who have been committing crimes against international and humanitarian law.

“Is this not evidence enough to merit a very thorough and impartial investigation into the possibility that Israel does not want to end its occupation of Gaza (or the rest of Palestine) and that this captive population is being destroyed with intent?”

15 October, 2014

To whom this concerns

As a citizen of a UN member state, I wish to demand action on the recent attack on Gaza by Israel.

As a background to the violence, I wish to note and remind that the people of Gaza are not only being collectively punished through siege but denied even the most basic of human rights such as freedom of movement, access to health care, education, nutrition, clean water, the right to make a living and have personal security. Most of the people of Gaza are refugees who are still being denied their right of return decades after expulsions by zionist militia.

The global audience was exposed to entire apartment blocks being leveled to the ground with families sleeping inside, UN schools attacked while women and children sought shelter, children blown to pieces while playing on a beach, vital infrastructure purposefully damaged such as hospitals and rescue crews attacked, allegations of deliberate assassinations even of a disabled girl, entire neighbourhoods obliterated. My list is by no means exhaustive as this serves merely as giving brief examples.

Is this not evidence enough to merit a very thorough and impartial investigation into the possibility that Israel does not want to end its occupation of Gaza (or the rest of Palestine) and that this captive population is being destroyed with intent? Many examples exist of top Israeli figures in the political and academic world who used racist incitement to argue for the destruction of Gaza.

I am dismayed that the United Nations whose purpose it is to protect and advance humanity is not extending this responsibility to cover the Palestinian people and their long walk to freedom. I urge the United Nations to bring justice to a people who have suffered catastrophe through mass murder and expulsions and attacks on their culture and basic rights. If the people of Israel and Palestine are to have any hope of a peaceful, mutually beneficial future, it must be built upon justice and done so immediately. Too much time and too many lives have been lost already. Please support ‘never again’.

Yours faithfully

UK protestors question Labor party’s John Prescott about genocide in Gaza

21st September 2014 – John Prescott runs away from questions about the Labour party support for the genocide being carried out in Gaza. G4S hired to protect the delegates at the conference are responsible for Human Rights abuses in Palestine and have an ever increasing role in the privatization of prisons and policing services in the UK.

Is Israel Committing a Genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza? by Luke Peterson

Ordinarily the Israeli campaign against the Palestinians is creeping and deliberate, involving processes of detention, and restriction: the abject denial of basic human rights and dignities that is integral to political and military occupation. It is “incremental genocide” (to borrow a phrase from the scholar Ilan Pappe)…

The Israeli leadership behaves with utter impunity. Netanyahu’s government is able to push international opinion to the brink of condemnation and censure (Latin America has been the moral conscience of the globe over the course of the last two weeks). But the Israeli government then settles back into its normal pattern of “incremental genocide.”

Only a massive swell of negative global opinion, widespread protest, institutionalized boycott, broad divestment, and/or huge public condemnation can stem the tide of unchecked Israeli aggression.

Article about Genocide and Israel: More voices describe Gaza slaughter as a ‘genocide’

A growing chorus of voices internationally is describing the Gaza slaughter as a genocide. Here are some of those voices and lastly, a definition of the term from a leading human rights lawyer, who says that genocide entails two things, 1, the intent to destroy a people in whole or part, and 2, acts of genocide, killing members of that group or inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction, in whole or part, of the people you’re trying to destroy…

Bolivia rejects Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people

Bolivian Foreign Ministry also calls on the international community to intervene to stop “the genocide” and stressed that “should respect and comply with international agreements and treaties.” The Foreign Ministry also expressed concern about the operation called “[Protective] Edge” that has killed more than 80 Palestinian civilians, including children, adolescents and women, and injured more than 500.

“We urge you to investigate and punish the crimes committed by Israel in this region, in the framework of international law, human rights and international humanitarian law,” the statement said.

Bolivia joins the call of the people of Alba, who strongly condemned the cruelty against the Palestinian people, as a human slaughter has described President Mahmoud Abbas. Venezuela recently criticized Israel for bombing Gaza… and asked the mediation of international organizations.
