The Dark Side of Germany and the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies by Dan Lieberman

Post World War II Germany has exhibited commendable characteristics — publicly atoning for its Nazi past, working assiduously to create a thriving nation, designing a truly democratic country, integrating its European compatriots into a common market, leading others in opening borders to refugees, and modifying its previous ultra-nationalism to form the European union. Behind these praiseworthy attributes lurks another Germany and with a deadly appearance. Germany, which committed the World War II genocide, actively aids and abets another genocide ─ the genocide of the Palestinian people.

When It Comes to Israel and Palestine, Germany Needs to Remember Its Commitment: ‘Never Again’ by Agneska Bloch

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

On one hand is Germany’s “special relationship” with Israel, rooted in Germany’s “special historical responsibility for Israel’s security,” as German Chancellor Angela Merkel put it in a 2008 speech to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. On the other is the oft-repeated injunction “nie wieder” (never again), a commitment to prevent genocide based on the principles of human rights and the protection of minorities after the Holocaust. Yet the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, which the normalization deals reinforce, and annexation, which they only postpone, are clear violations of this duty.

Germany’s decision to equate BDS with anti-Semitism is ‘immoral’ on Middle East Monitor

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Germany’s decision to equate the boycott of Israel with anti-Semitism “violates international law”,  “international legitimacy” and is “immoral”, the Boycott Campaign – Palestine said in a statement today… “We call on the German parliament to immediately reverse the decision and support any popular action against any occupation around the world, especially the Israeli occupation, which continues to commit war crimes and genocide against the defenceless Palestinian people.”

Statement about German nightclubs blacklisting DJs over support for the BDS movement by Hiro Kone

This is about freedom and equality for the Palestinian people, what it’s not about is any one insular community coming to grips with a movement that has been growing for some time. I think we’ve all had plenty of time, in fact, to come to grips with the fact that the Israeli government is heavily armed and genocidal.

Germany: Do not collaborate in Israel’s Cultural Crimes in regards to the Looted Palestinian Dead Sea Scrolls and respect international law by PACBI

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The confiscation and theft of Palestinian cultural heritage are part of Israel’s attempts to erase Palestinian memory and cultural identity…

As US legal expert David Nersessian notes:

“Cultural genocide extends beyond attacks upon the physical and/or biological elements of a group and seeks to eliminate its wider institutions… Elements of cultural genocide are manifested when artistic, literary, and cultural activities are restricted or outlawed and when national treasures, libraries, archives, museums, artifacts, and art galleries are destroyed or confiscated.”

Angry protesters greet Israeli justice minister in Berlin (i24News, 2015)

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Left-wing activists and BDS supporters gathered outside the Justice ministry, where Shaked opened a conference titled “Democracy and the Rule of Law,” with German Minister of Justice Heiko Maas… “She was talking about genocide, and in Germany, her statements would probably have landed her in jail,” said Iris Hefets of “Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East,” which organized the rally alongside several BDS groups. The organization also sent letters to the heads of the Jewish Museum in Berlin, urging then to reconsider their decision to host a dinner in honor of Shaked.

“I urge you to conduct an immediate enquiry concerning those possible war crimes- genocide, apartheid, colonialisation- commited by the State of Israel and to publish results.”

7 July 2015

Dear UN Office of the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide,

herewith I urge you to urgently conduct an enquiry as to the possibility that Israel is committing the Crime of Genocide and crimes against humanity (apartheid, colonialisation).
Furthermore I urge you to publish results of this enquiry and recommendations with the aim to prevent present and future war crimes and genocide commited by the State of Israel.

Direct and public incitement to genocide by Israeli political, religious and parliamentary leaders have been well documented.

The former UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the OPT, Prof. Richard Falk, separate Arab League- and UN-led investigations into Israel’s 2008/9 war on Gaza, and the 2014 Russell Tribunal on Palestine special session on Israeli violations of international law in Gaza and elsewhere in the OPT, have confirmed that Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity have been perpetrated with impunity.

Therefore I am urging you to investigate if Israeli official representatives are responsible for the crime of genocide, including the crime of incitement to genocide.
The aim should be to prevent the risk of a future Israeli genocide against (all or parts of) the Palestinian people.

Israel has been founded due to compassion with the Jewish people and their relatives, having experienced terrible crimes against them during 2nd world war. Unfortunately, the government of Israel seems not to respect the victims of these war crimes commited against Jewish people, since they are since 1948 conducting a regime of colonialism, apartheid and occupation against the palestinian civil population, including ethnic cleansing and mass killing of civilians.

The crime of genocide, the crime of apartheid and colonialism are internationally prohibited.

This leads to legal responsibilities of all democratic states and international organizations, such as the United Nations: Israeli apartheid and colonialism should be suppressed and responsible individuals have to be brought to justice.
Full reparation should be guaranteed for the Palestinian victims.

Equivocal statements made by UN officials in relation to the issue of possible genocide in 2014 have confused many people.
Making equivocal statements is harmful and damaging, and I would like to propose that an apology for such statements is in order as soon as possible.
This concerns especially the statement made by the UN office on the 24th of July 2014. At this time, Israel had already massacred 697 Palestinians in Gaza, of whom at least 170 were children.
It is incomprehensible when the israeli mass destruction is compared with the comparably meagre damage inflicted by the resistance of the victims of what I would call a genocide, especially, when the incomprehensible numbers of the dead, and the staggering destruction to civilian infrastructure to the besieged Gaza strip, which the UN itself has described as “uninhabitable” even before Israel’s latest onslaught, has been fully recognized by the UN.

Therefore I urge you to conduct an immediate enquiry concerning those possible war crimes (genocide, apartheid, colonialisation) commited by the State of Israel and to publish results.
I would very much welcome the rectifying of possible equivocal statements, since they cause damage and harm.

Yours sincerely,

Cordula
