Israel: Chronicle of a Genocide Foretold by Richard Silverstein

Some find use of the term “genocide” regarding Israel’s treatment of Palestinians objectionable for various reasons.  But I’ve written here rebutting such claims. With the rise of Israel’s Judeo-fascist government and its terrorist senior ministers (Smotrich and Ben Gvir), it’s far past time for the world to not only acknowledge this genocidal reality, but to stop it before it’s too late.

We already see genocidal incitement both in words and deeds.  Seven Palestinian villages with over 500 residents have been expelled by settler violence.  Bezalel Smotrich called for “wiping out” the village of Huwara, after two settlers were killed nearby. A villager was murdered by a Judeo-terrorist. No one has been charged with any crime.

…Anyone who scoffs at the idea of genocide or a Final Solution should examine the history of countries which did such heinous acts.  The final act of extermination did not spring up ex nihilo.  It followed a slow, building process of demonization, harassment, and violence, which led up to it.  This is the stage in which Israel finds itself.

Survival of the fittest has become survival of the fascists by Jonathan Ofir

… with the increasing rise of right-wing and fascist leaders in what is generally considered the West and beyond, these expressions seem to survive with little condemnation, and the fascists even rejoice in their rejection of ‘political correctness’, and in the belief that now one may be more honest about one’s racism and genocidal policies.

This explains very well the bromance between Netanyahu and ultra-nationalists such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban (who has engaged in Jew-baiting and praise of Nazi collaborators), Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte (who compared himself to Hitler), or the newly elected Brasilian President Jair Bolsonaro…

In Israel, Growing Fascism and a Racism Akin to Early Nazism by Zeev Sternhell

According to the concepts of Smotrich, Zohar and Shaked, a Jew from Brooklyn who has never set foot in this country is the legitimate owner of this land, while a Palestinian whose family has lived here for generations is a stranger, living here only by the grace of the Jews. “A Palestinian,” Zohar tells Hecht, “has no right to national self-determination since he doesn’t own the land in this country. Out of decency I want him here as a resident, since he was born here and lives here – I won’t tell him to leave. I’m sorry to say this but they have one major disadvantage – they weren’t born as Jews.”
From this one may assume that even if they all converted, grew side-curls and studied Torah, it would not help. This is the situation with regard to Sudanese and Eritrean asylum seekers and their children, who are Israeli for all intents and purposes. This is how it was with the Nazis. Later comes apartheid, which could apply under certain circumstances to Arabs who are citizens of Israel. Most Israelis don’t seem worried.

The children of Gaza and the profit being made from their genocide by Heathcote Williams

As Israel violates its own ‘ceasefire’ to murder yet another child in Gaza City, the poet Heathcote Williams delves into aspects of Israel, Palestine and the lethal war now under way that rarely surface in the mainstream discourse – and amid the horror, cruelty and rising tide of fascism, finds grounds for long term hope… Israel’s soldiers’ strength is misused to produce genocide, as well as a scorched policy whereby 800,000 olive trees in Occupied Palestine are destroyed to drive Palestinian farmers from their land, and whereby their homes are bombed to smithereens.
