… it is hard to argue that general support by Biden for the ICC to continue to prosecute genocide is not a good thing. But the next big question becomes whether the Biden administration will continue to try to protect Israel from ICC scrutiny and whether it will put any teeth behind that backing as the Trump administration did with sanctions…. The hope in Israel is that the world’s gain in greater support for combating genocide does not come in parallel to efforts to reduce the complex Israeli-Palestinian conflict to a one-sided criminal case.

We also call upon the Trump administration to rescind their unjustifiable and unsustainable support for the brutal and genocidal policies of the Israeli regime, and demand Israel account for its actions before the global community of nations.

“This peace plan only recognizes Israeli occupation and completely ignores the rights of oppressed Palestinians,” Mahathir said in his opening address to the third Parliamentary Conference for Al-Quds in Petaling Jaya… “Malaysia has always stood with the Palestinians and rejected Trump’s proposal,” He called on the conference to take a stand against the complete oppression of Palestinians. “This activity should be an opportunity to overcome intimidation, violence and genocide against the Palestinian people.”

THERE are two schools of thought as to the fate of the newly revealed proposed settlement to the protracted Palestine problem. One espoused by Scott Ritter, former United Nations weapons of mass destruction inspector, that Palestinians cannot refuse and the other that it must be rejected, not least because of its total disregard of justice for the Palestinians and their dignity… If, as Ritter suggests, this is the chance of a lifetime for the reinstatement of Palestine and its economic development, how can the Palestinians refuse this deal when a refusal means the perpetuation of poverty and their ultimate genocide?

On Tuesday, the Tunisian parliament unanimously condemned the alleged “Deal of the Century” announced by US President Donald Trump last Tuesday… the head of Ennahda bloc (54 seats), Noureddine Bhiri, considered that “the project of the scandal of the century represents a crime of genocide and a crime against humanity, and contradicts all international values, principles and covenants.”

Those of us living inside the U.S. witness and experience every day the horrific impact of an economic and social system built on settler-colonial genocide against Indigenous peoples and theft of their lands as well as enslavement and forced labor of African peoples. The same vile system is at work this very minute against the Palestinian people.

American Jews are US citizens with full rights and obligations, while enjoying freedom to practise Judaism as a religion similar to all other religious groups. Defining Israel as a Jewish instead of a Zionist project and Judaism as a race or nationality immediately raises profoundly problematic issues of dual loyalty, and exposes American Jews to criticism, manipulation and potential abuse due to Israel’s reactionary agenda of apartheid and genocide of Palestinians.

In the past, both Democratic and Republican elected officials in the U.S. marched lock-step in their servile bowing to Israel, supporting ever-increasing aid and praising its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, war crimes and crimes against humanity notwithstanding. Members of the Democratic Party are still nauseatingly pro-Israel, but, as indicated above, their complete and unqualified support for that apartheid state is a thing of the past. And a recent survey indicates that, among younger Republicans, support for Israel is quickly dwindling.
