Do you not see many of these parallels spawning and festering in Israeli society as it conducts its incremental genocide?

Haim Bresheeth-Zabner, in his 2020 history of the Zionist project as military violence, writes that the “pretence of an equality of claims between a militarized settler-colonial illegal administration and the indigenous population has been the mainstay of liberal Zionism, providing cover for every war crime in the book.” The claim of “enlightened occupation” is used to justify continued atrocities, allowing the perpetrators and their supporters to “smear as traitor anyone who voices the slightest criticism.” He documents a genocidal intent against Palestinians from the outset and quotes the secret orders given by the political/military leadership.

Israeli leaders brazenly and sadistically, overtly and covertly, carry out their matrix of control, securitization, and incremental genocide. This article raises the question of guilt. Eyal Weizman [3] explores the moral depravity wherein a lesser evil is justifiable if it prevents a greater evil. Michael Ignatieff, human rights scholar and once the leader of Canada’s Liberal Party, defended the use of torture on this basis, and also said that he did not lose sleep over Israel’s massacre of 57 people, including 37 children, in the Lebanese village of Qana in 2006. Israel has bombed, with impunity, the entire life-sustaining infrastructure of Gaza, and unless the siege is entirely dismantled, there are many warnings that the Covid-19 pandemic could well be a holocaust.

Palestine’s population in the West Bank and Gaza is over 5 million people. As previously stated, since the year 2000, over 10,000 Palestinians have been brutally murdered by Israel’s army and settlers, funded exclusively with hard earned U.S. tax dollars. To extrapolate, that means that between the year 2000 and 2020,  660,00 American citizens would have been murdered.
Would we allow such a genocide?

In 2010 Palgrave Macmillan published The Plight of the Palestinians: a Long History of Destruction. Dr. Richard Falk, Raconteur for the Palestinian people, wrote a new Introduction for the paper back edition. He, too, understands why the Foreign Minister is upset. I edited this volume that provided 32 chapters by world renowned experts on the genocide in Palestine.

Back in 2012 I wrote a short book entitled Cultural Genocide (Rutgers University Press). It looked at four case studies of this phenomenon: the American Indians, Russian treatment of Jews in the 19th century, Chinese assimilation of Tibet, and Israel’s ongoing treatment of the Palestinians. It is an aspect of Palestinian plight that I want to revisit here.

The idea behind cultural genocide is relatively simple—it is the systematic erasure of the culture of indigenous people subject to colonization.

Even the Zionist state was not so crass or politically craven as to publicly label them Jew haters because they had the principled audacity to call it to task for the slaughter of thousands of defenseless women, children and elders. No, that would be exploiting the exploitation called the Holocaust that Zionist cheerleaders have employed for 70 years as so much cover for one of Israel’s own making… as it thumbs its nose at the world and commits unspeakable mayhem against Palestinians. To Zionists, survivors who screamed out with dignity and honor… “genocide,” were pathetic… just old and feeble.

But, objectively, is Trump really any less vulgar politically than Clinton, who once laughingly declared “we came, we saw, he died” to describe the horrific death—sodomized by bayonets—of Libyan leader Muammar Qadaffi? Some liberals in their search for reasons to support Clinton over Sanders have pointed to her “extensive” foreign policy experience. Actually, they would be better off not bringing up the topic. Does it matter that this experience includes supporting the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq? Does it matter that she supports global assassinations by drone as an instrument of foreign policy? Or that as Secretary of State in 2009 she had her slippery hand involved in the right-wing coup in Honduras? Does it matter she has stood as an unabashed apologist for Israel’s repeated genocidal assaults on Palestinian Gaza?

Sanders v. Clinton on Palestine: No Contest by Eric Mann

It is my view that the Israeli government, with the active support and military aid of the U.S. government is committing human rights abuses and genocide against the Palestinian people.
