EZZIDIN Y. BELKHEIR (Libya), associating himself with the League of Arab States and the Non‑Aligned Movement, asked what the United Nations and the international community were doing to end the situation.  The United States and other Western countries had exerted political pressure in favour of the two‑State approach, and the Palestinian people had therefore accepted it as well as the Oslo Accords.  However, Israel had violated further agreements and resolutions.  Furthermore, the reports before the Committee indicated a deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip as well as Israel’s continuing actions to undermine the two‑State approach, such as the demolition of houses and continuing discrimination against Palestinians.  “How can a military force benefiting from the support of major Powers continue to mock the international community while acting as a butcher?” he asked, further questioning whether the world would wake up one day to the news that there had been a genocide of the entire Palestinian people.

Anti-racist Jewish Humanitarians Oppose Apartheid Israel & Support UN Security Council Resolution 2334 by Dr Gideon Polya

The UN Security Council Resolution 2334 ignored the crime of the near-half century Occupation by Apartheid Israel but at least spelled out the egregious violations of international law associated with that Occupation. To that extent, passage by the UN Security Council of Resolution 2334 (unanimously except for abstention by an intractably  racist US) is an ineradicable game changer. The ongoing Palestinian Genocide by race-based Apartheid Israel has now been recognized 14 to 0 by the UN Security Council, if not  with use of that terminology, by “Condemning all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, including, inter alia, the construction and expansion of settlements, transfer of Israeli settlers, confiscation of land, demolition of homes and displacement of Palestinian civilians, in violation of international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions”.

A Colonialist Project of Dispossession in the Occupied Territories by Daniel Blatman

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Colonial dispossessors always expected the natives to play the game, i.e. to agree to the seizure of their lands and possessions, to loyally serve the settlers as manual laborers, and so on. As long as they behaved, their existence was tolerated. But the Jewish settler cannot, over the long term, tolerate the existence of the Palestinian “native,” not just because the latter refuses to play by the rules and responds with violence, but because his physical existence is a constant challenge to the main question: Who is the true native of this land?

As a result, the final objective of the settler ideology in the territories is not the Palestinians’ obedient submission to Israeli brutality, but their total disappearance. In instances of colonialism where there were fewer components of identity and messianic faith involved, it still ended in expulsion or genocide. The reality in the territories is sliding toward this danger. There are enough West Bank settlers working to make that moment happen.

Venezuelan Social Movements Protest Israeli “Genocide” Outside UN HQ in Caracas by Lucas Koerner

“We are here at the United Nations office in Caracas simply because we cannot remain silent in the face of the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people,” Hindu Andari, spokesperson for the Itinerant Forum of Popular Participation, told venezuelanalysis

Coming on the heels of Venezuela’s commemoration of “indigenous resistance day” on October 12, several present at Wednesday’s protest drew parallels between Palestinian resistance to Israeli colonization and indigenous struggles in South America. “The Venezuelan people survived a similar genocide when Columbus came to America. The Palestinian people are resisting as we resisted, as our indigenous peoples resisted in the face of that [Spanish] genocide. Venezuela cannot be indifferent to this cause,” explains Mercedes “Chelena” Rosa of the Movement of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist Artists.

The Palestinian Nakba: A time to remember global indigenous struggles by Ahmad Moussa

Make a donation at our Indiegogo fundraising campaign.

The third wave of the Nakba involves the combination of the constant and permanent military adventures of Israel as a settler colonial state combined with laws and policies that administer and facilitate settler colonialism. This has come to be known as bureaucratic ethnic cleansing aimed at using laws and policies to undermine, disempower, oppress and colonize the Palestinians living both within the enclave and reservation territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip as well as those living inside Israel facing similar laws and policies to those under occupation and colonization. This wave includes the negotations also known as the ‘Peace Process’ as well as the latest ‘recognition’ trend of statehood for the Palestinians as both have been providing more time and distraction tactics for the continued incremental genocide of the Palestinians.

Statement of Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations on the Situation in the Middle East to the UN Security Council

Colonizing policies and practices of Israel against the Palestinian people must end. Israel must put a definitive end to provocations and incitement to hatred and terror, crimes of aggression, arbitrary detentions, mass imprisonment and genocide against the Palestinian people.

No More Genocide! New Haven marches for Palestine

People expressed their disgust with the state-sponsored terrorism of Israel, the unanimous support of the genocide by US politicians and the billions of dollars of annual aid to Israel. Norman Clement, an ANSWER organizer, spoke about the link between the genocide in Palestine and the extermination of Native populations in the US. “It’s the same thing; the same push for colonization, to steal land and wipe out the people on that land.”

Article about Genocide and Israel: Gaza Needs More than Condemnation

It seems, however, and again, as Ilan Pappe notices, that even horrendous crimes, such as the genocide in Gaza, are treated as “discrete events, unrelated to events in the past and dissociated from any ideology or system.” Supporters of Palestine must always relate today’s massacres to the original sin of colonization of the land which Israel has claimed for its own and the dispossession of its indigenous people.

“Israel” is committing genocide. It inflicts physical, economic and psychological violence on Palestinians daily…

  • We support Palestinian self-determination and de-colonization of Palestine.
  • We demand the right of return for the 5.5 million Palestinian refugees who have been displaced by “Israeli” invasion.
  • We call for their safe return to their villages of origin and we demand that they be compensated for their losses.
  • We support the movement to “disinvest (or divest) from “Israel.”
  • We join the call for divestment from all corporations that do business with “Israel.” We join the call for boycotting “Israeli” products and divesting from financial ties that support the military industrial complex of “Israel.”
  • The “U.S.” government must STOP $6 billion from US every year to finance “Israeli” colonization.
  • We insist that the voices of Palestinians surviving and resisting occupation be heard.
  • End all forms of violence committed against Palestinian women and families including rapes and still-births at checkpoints, political imprisonment and torture, and housing demolitions.
  • STOP THE GENOCIDE AGAINST PALESTINIAN PEOPLE!
