So for example, they are not bombing the water wells with traditional rockets, but with rockets with chemical materials, and this infiltrates to our water aquifers. When we came after the wars and we wanted to water our trees, the water is poison, so the trees are poison, and the fruits are poison. And what we eat is poison… So it is like a slow motion genocide, as one of our Israeli friends- comrades- called it.”

… it’s imperative to remember that fundamental to the Zionist settler-colonialism is the transformation of Palestinians into fully dependent subjects, stripped of the means to function on their own or establish an independent state. As Israel manufactures and perpetuates this collective deprivation, not only does it emphasise a racist, colonial hierarchy, but – worse – it takes away Palestinians’ basic means to fend for themselves against climate change. Stripping a group of the means of self-defence against climate change may be equal to committing climate genocide.
