Mandela’s grandson at Palestine Expo: ‘We have a moral duty to support the BDS’ on Middle East Monitor

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

My brothers and sisters; Palestine Expo reminds us of the reality of a nation that has now withstood 71 years of the Nakba. It reminds us of homes, farms and villages that was once home to a vibrant community with a proud history, culture, language and cuisine that has been usurped and occupied in gross violation of international law. Seven decades of ethnic cleansing and genocide perpetrated in the name of the myth of a land without people, for a people without land.

Disinformation and False Accusations of Anti-Semitism: Permitting Israel’s Slow Motion Genocide of Palestinians by Heather Stroud

The convoys of ambulances packed with medical supplies, (Viva Palestina 2009) grew out of an inspirational idea put forward by George Galloway. Both within the UK and indeed globally, individuals were/and continue to be shocked by the brutal attacks on a largely defenceless population living under siege in Gaza. The Israeli ‘Operation Cast Lead’ of 2008/9 left around 1,440 people dead and many more thousand injured. Ten years on, Gaza continues to face a slow genocide so the motivation to place blame on those who speak out about these outrageous war crimes and crimes against humanity, are well entrenched within the establishment and media.

Thousands of people marched through central London in a bid to end Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and the blockade on Gaza.

.. One of the protesters was Allison Pierce. Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Pierce said she was “appalled” by what’s happening to Palestinians.
She said: “Do you want to know why I’m here today? I am absolutely appalled by what’s happening to the Palestinians. I think it’s genocide and I think it is murder.”

Analysis: History has humiliated May over ‘terrorist’ Mandela – supporters of apartheid Israel will be next by David Jamieson

Exploitation or genocide?

These are the limits to the apartheid analogy. Ultimately, the South African regime was overthrown by the black working class, who were empowered by the white minority’s dependence on their labour.

The Israeli state depends on massive foreign aid, not Palestinian labour. Consequently, huge numbers of Palestinians are unemployed and living in extreme poverty. Economic life in parts of Palestine, particularly the brutalised Gaza strip, has essentially broken down.

But the limits to the analogy are instructive to the violent dynamic of Israeli occupation. The Palestinians confront the Israeli state not as a dangerous necessity, but as an obstacle without value to the state.

That is why rather than exploit Palestinians, the Israeli state kills them, starves them, humiliates them, throws them off their land and forces them into exile.

In most of the textbooks given to Israeli children at state school, the occupied West Bank and Gaza do not exist. The Palestinian people are gone.

The use of anti-Semitism as a tool to demonise specific groups and opposition by Matthew Clifton

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The tool used by the Israeli government and its allies is anti-Semitism and this allows them to continue their genocide of the Palestinians. But in Britain, real anti-Semitism still exists despite it being comparatively low compared to other countries. In September 2017, the Institute of Jewish Policy Research published a report entitled ‘Antisemitism in contemporary Great Britain’.

David Cameron staunchly supported Israel’s genocide: Weapon sales Not in millions but billions on Adonis Diaries

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.
David Cameron has offered the UK’s support to Israel in response to ‘appalling’ attacks carried out by Hamas. “The Prime Minister reiterated the UK’s staunch support for Israel in the face of such attacks, and underlined Israel’s right to defend itself from them.” Netanyahu has warned that Hamas will pay a “heavy price” for the rocket attacks and at least 47 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza since yesterday, according to Palestinian officials. Britain admits selling $12 billion in weapons to Israel.

An Open Letter to Boris Johnson and to the British Public, from Israeli Citizens Who Support Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

As citizens of Israel, we have little hope for a change from within. We fear the worst has yet to come for the Palestinian people, with all those living here paying the price. In Gaza, campaigns of mass killing have been pursued time and again, with the residents regarded as guinea-pigs in a hi-tech weapons lab. We are also extremely concerned about the rise of extrajudicial executions in the West Bank, including in hospitals and lynch mobs within the 67 borders, stirred by Israeli officials who have encouraged the Jewish population to take up arms and shoot-to-kill Palestinians.

We are concerned by genocidal statements issued by senior members of the Israeli government. We call on the British public to heed our warning and respond to the 2005 Palestinian civil society call for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS). We do not raise this alarm lightly, and we urge concerned citizens all over the world to take action now – boycott, divest and disinvest from, and sanction Israel until it complies with international law and conventions, ends its military occupation and apartheid policies, and grants indigenous Palestinian refugees their full rights by acknowledging international law.

YouthDebates.com forum: Israel Guilty of Genocide?

“Saw this article on BBC News where an activist group has released a report suggesting that Israeli forces in the 2014 Gaza War were told not to discriminate between any Palestinians. Therefore this suggests that Israel observes every Palestinian as its enemy. Would this suggest factors of genocide in Israeli policy regarding Palestine? all presuming this reports correct and accurate”

Amnesty calls on UN powers to surrender veto on genocide votes

Amnesty International has urged the five permanent members of the UN Security Council to give up their power of veto in cases where atrocities are being committed… The rights group urged the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States – to renounce their veto rights in situations of genocide and mass atrocities. Since 2011, Russia and China have cast four vetoes to block international action in Syria, where more than 210,000 have been killed since the conflict began, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Security Council has failed to deal with conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Gaza, Israel and Ukraine, even when civilians had been subjected to “horrific crimes”, Amnesty said.

David Ward MP helps mark Holocaust Memorial Day in Bradford

Tuesday 27th January marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the site of the largest mass murder in history. The service in Bradford was a very inclusive event involving members of all faith groups with community representatives from the Gypsy Roma and LGBT communities. Seventy candles will be lit across the UK to mark the occasion and this year’s theme is “Keep the memory alive”. Commenting David Ward MP said:

“On Holocaust Memorial Day it’s imperative that we share the memory of the millions who have been murdered in the Holocaust and subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Palestine, Bosnia and Darfur in order to challenge hatred and persecution wherever it resides today.

The commemoration provides an opportunity for everyone to pause and take a moment to really think about lessons from the Holocaust, and subsequent genocides in order to ensure, where possible that such atrocities cannot happen again and help create a safer, better future for us all.”
