There are pains that never heal, and there are institutions that are designed to dehumanize others. The institutions of a colonizing power are designed to not only steal land but they are also intended to inflict pain on the hearts of its indigenous people. Since 1948, an ongoing genocide, affecting the freedom and sovereignty of the Palestinians over their bodies and movement has resulted in their slow death, both mentally and physically.

Abdalhadi Alijla reply to Prof. Olmert: Incremental genocide is still genocide

Dr. Olmert is most upset that I labeled Israel’s latest operation agenocide. Yet he is presenting false information about the number of casualties in Gaza and arguing that genocide cannot be occurring if the natural population growth rate of Palestinians is increasing. What a justification for massive killing!..

William Schabas, professor of international law and senior lecturer at Canada’s Middlesex University, argues that genocide is comprised of different components; it is not only in the act but also in the means of committing the crime. Genocide can be physical, biological, economic, societal, and cultural in its obliteration of a people…

The following figures are current as of August 24 according to the Palestine Committee on Human Rights in Gaza: more than 80% (1.800) out of those 2.120 killed were civilians and represent one out of every thousand people in Gaza. Almost 25 percent (507) were children. Out of 10.854 wounded, 3.307 are children, 2.042 are women and 401 are elderly. Israel is responsible to give an explanation for its crimes!

Palestinian academic Abdalhadi Alijla calls Israel’s military operations in Gaza genocide

The changing of goals of the Israeli operation and the hysterical statements by Israeli officials clearly show that the aim of the operation is not to create deterrence but to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza; humans, infrastructure and buildings. More than 1.800 Palestinian civilians were massacred while only three Israelis were killed. It is a genocide… Not only the UN backed Israel, but also the EU and the European countries. They have been lecturing the world about human rights, democracy, civil rights and other sweet and rosy concepts. However, they failed to condemn, at least officially, the Israeli attacks and the genocide that been committed in Gaza. Europe has failed the Palestinians as human beings, which have nothing to do with the holocaust, based on which Europe in general, and mainly the United Kingdom, have given away what they do not own, displacing the indigenous people.
