The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) condemns the ongoing targeting of civilians and civilian objects by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the Gaza Strip. Over the past four days, several Palestinians, including children, have been killed and injured in a wave of attacks targeting civilian gatherings, displacement tents, homes, and civilian property. PCHR emphasizes that these ongoing attacks, coupled with Israeli threats to expand the scope of bombardment and the issuance of new evacuation orders, are placing civilians at increasing risk and further exacerbating the catastrophic conditions resulting from the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip for nearly three years.

Four Palestinians Killed in Joint Attack by Israeli Occupation Forces and Settlers in Nablus on Palestinian Centre for Human Rights

Ibrahim Hussein’ Ali Ramadan (31), who was shot in the head; his brother, Jawad Hussein ‘Ali Ramadan (26), who was shot in the chest; Farouq ‘Adnan ‘Ali Ramadan (41), who sustained wounds to the chest, abdomen, and thigh; and ‘Imran Ahmed ‘Ali Ramadan (33), who was shot in the head.

… IOF also imposed a military curfew on Tal village, closed all entrances to Nablus, and declared the area a closed military zone.

… The settlers carried out two major attacks on the villages of Jeet and Far’ata, east of Qalqiliya and southwest of Nablus, adjacent to Tal village. During the attacks, they set fire to a house and vehicles parked in front of it as well as in the vicinity of Ramallah. These attacks resulted in the injury of five Palestinians, including two who sustained serious injuries.

At the time of preparing this press release, IOF and Israeli settlers continue to carry out widespread attacks and acts of collective punishment against Palestinian civilians and their property in these areas.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated in a press release that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the military to take “punitive” measures following the Tal village incident. 

… For his part, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for issuing orders to the IOF that “for every Jew killed, the enemy must bear the loss of land and homes.” Ben-Gvir has repeatedly participated in incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, while promoting incitement for settler attacks and working to provide them with protection.

These developments come amid an ongoing pattern of escalating attacks and crimes carried out by the IOF and Israeli settler militias across the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s Assassination of Al-Wheidi Proves That Even Those Who Create Moments of Joy in Gaza Are Targets of Genocide by Palestinian Centre for Human Rights

PCHR views with the utmost concern the IOF’s targeting of a civilian vehicle carrying Mohammed al-Wheidi, Director of Public Relations at the Egyptian Committee in the Gaza Strip, killing him and other civilians. The attack occurred while the Egypt–Argentina match was underway during the World Cup, as al-Wheidi was supervising preparations for a public screening of the match. This raises serious concerns that the IOF’s targeting extends beyond the killing of Palestinians to the deliberate destruction of even the limited spaces and moments of normal life and collective joy available to Gaza’s besieged population. By targeting individuals and initiatives that provide these rare opportunities, Israel appears to be pursuing a policy aimed at destroying the remaining manifestations of civilian life and keeping the population in a constant state of fear and deprivation.

Taken together, these developments demonstrate the IOF’s continued implementation of systematic policies aimed at destroying the conditions necessary for life in the Gaza Strip. Through widespread killings, largescale destruction, and repeated forced displacement, the IOF continue to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to make the territory uninhabitable, thereby reinforcing the material elements of the crime of genocide. They further demonstrate that the crimes being committed are not limited to targeting individuals but are directed against the continued existence of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip as a whole.

Over 260 Days Into the Gaza Ceasefire, Israeli Genocide and Palestinian Suffering Continue by Quds News Network

 Over eight months into the Gaza ceasefire, which took effect on October 10, the Israeli occupation continues its genocidal war on the Palestinian enclave, killing over 1000 and restricting the entry of desperately needed
aid, with no pause in the attacks or the suffering.

… Israel violated the ceasefire agreement over 3,465 times. The average number of violations committed by Israeli forces has reached 13.2 violations per day, according to the Gaza Government Media Office on Monday (June 29, 2026).

The Gaza Government Media Office said on Monday that 1,045 Palestinians have been killed and 3,380 others wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza. Among the victims were over 300 children, women and elders.

According to data from the Palestinian Health Ministry, 61 percent of those killed (614) are men aged 18-60, and 11 percent (109) are women aged 18-60. 25 percent (253) are children under 18. 3 percent are adults (15 men and 12 women) aged 60 and over.

PHROC Condemns the Establishment of a Special Military Tribunal to Impose the Death Penalty against Palestinians, as a Measure of Unconstrained Illegality by Al-Haq

Encouraged by the failure of the international community to take concrete measures in response to its manifestly illegal and highly discriminatory death penalty law of 30 March 2026 – the Israeli Knesset has added to its body of apartheid legislation a second death penalty law. Passed on 11 May 2026 by a unanimous vote of 93-0 in a rare show of bipartisan support, the law (co-sponsored by Simcha Rothman of the Religious Zionism party and Yulia Malinovsky of opposition group Yisrael Beytenu, and strongly backed by Justice Minister Yariv Levin) establishes a special military tribunal to prosecute Palestinians allegedly involved in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on 7 October 2023.

In its longstanding pursuit of Palestinian erasure through an apartheid legal framework and ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, the Knesset has attempted to circumvent the prohibition on the retroactive application of capital punishment by transplanting existing Israeli criminal offences – including treason, assisting an enemy in wartime, and genocide under the 1950 Law for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide – into a bespoke tribunal system empowered to impose the death penalty, in proceedings with significantly diminished due process protections.

Genocidal Killings Increase in Gaza Despite so called ‘Ceasefire’ and ‘Board of Peace’ by Al-Haq

Al-Haq believes that Israel’s practices are indicative of a pattern of genocidal intent represented in pushing Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip in conditions unfit for human survival, to destroy the Palestinian group. The silence and the complicity of some of the “Peace Board” members can only serve one single goal, i.e., the entrenchment of Isreal’s settler colonial apartheid regime in Palestine at the expense of the Palestinian people and in breach of their right inalienable right to self-determination, contrary to well established principles of international law. The ICJ’s July 2024 Palestine Advisory Opinion recognized Israel’s presence in the Palestinian territory as unlawful and called for its termination without delay.

Israel Escalates Killings and Expands Access-Restricted Areas, Exacerbating the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza by Palestinian Centre for Human Rights

Over the past several days, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have continued their airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire, carrying out further killings in a constant pattern of direct attacks against civilians and civilian objects. This coincides with an expansion of their deployment across the Gaza Strip through the introduction of the so-called “orange line,”1 which covers up to 11 percent of the total area of the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall area designated as access-restricted or prohibited to 64 percent of the territory.

The establishment of the so-called “orange line” indicates a serious escalation in the policy of progressively reducing the geographical space available to the civilian population. This line extends beyond areas previously designated by the “yellow line,” introducing a new layer of restrictions on movement and access. These developments demonstrate a further deepening of forced overcrowding, confining the population to an area that does not exceed 36 percent of the Gaza Strip’s territory, amid the absence of essential services and the continued deterioration of health and environmental conditions. Consequently, concerns over the spread of disease are heightened, further undermining the conditions necessary for the maintenance of human life.

… PCHR emphasizes that the IOF’s ongoing widescale killings and targeting of civilians, coupled with the continuing policies of siege, movement restriction and starvation, constitute a complementary pattern of acts that amount to crimes of genocide under international law, in particular the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

Establishing Israeli military sites near Yellow Line entrenches de facto annexation, threatens civilians in Gaza by Euromed Human Rights Monitor

The Euro-Med Monitor field team confirmed the establishment of at least 20 military sites of varying size in eastern Gaza, reflecting an accelerated effort to impose facts on the ground and consolidate long-term control over large parts of the Gaza Strip in preparation for annexation. This directly contradicts the requirements of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which was meant to lead to an Israeli withdrawal rather than an expanded deployment and a more fortified military presence.

These newly established Israeli military sites were built on the ruins of Palestinian homes, farmland, and other property, after comprehensive and systematic campaigns of destruction, bulldozing, and land levelling by the Israeli army. The operations affected entire towns and neighbourhoods and radically altered their geography, aiming to erase their Palestinian character and convert them into barracks and military zones that entrench Israel’s unlawful presence and control over the land.

… These acts also involve conduct explicitly prohibited under international humanitarian law, including the forcible transfer or deportation of protected persons from occupied territory. Such acts constitute war crimes and may amount to crimes against humanity when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against the civilian population and may also fall under the Genocide Convention when accompanied by specific intent to destroy.

The Death Penalty Law: A New Brutal Tool of Genocide by Al-Mezan

This brutal piece of legislation, providing for death by hanging, is another means by which Israel can kill Palestinians, a further weapon in Israel’s genocidal arsenal. Al Mezan considers it a brutal approach that evidence Israel’s determination to continue its genocide. The law’s adoption would further emphasize the international system’s inability to end the Israeli crimes that have killed tens of thousands of civilians protected by the virtue of international law. Further, the Center condemns the racist nature of the law, which is applicable to the Palestinian prisoners only, and not to Israelis who carried out mass killings of Palestinians.
