The Role of Media in the Context of Israel’s Policies and Practices Toward the Palestinian People, Especially After 7 October 2023 Submission to UN OHCHR by the British Palestinian Committee

This report has drawn upon quantitative data to evidence the complicity and bias of two established British media outlets, The Guardian and the Daily Mail. Between October 2023 and February 2026, their coverage of the genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip has been incomplete, inconsistent and dehumanising, despite their supposedly contrasting editorial stances. This has been achieved through 1) fragmented reporting on Palestinian casualties in Gaza, despite the astronomically high death rate and 2) the erasure of Palestinian spokespersons and their perspectives, while Israeli and Western commentators are frequently quoted.
