Over 600 food, nutrition, and agricultural scholars signed a letter to Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, demanding an immediate escalation of Canada’s response to Israel’s use of mass starvation as a tool of genocide against Palestinians

Dear Prime Minister Mark Carney and Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand,

We, the undersigned, wholly condemn the Canadian government’s response to the Israeli government’s mass starvation and killing of Palestinians in Gaza, as well as the military violence and forced displacement of Palestinians from their land in the West Bank. We unequivocally denounce the Canadian government’s engagement in the ineffective, undignified, and deadly method of air dropping aid, and call for an immediate escalation in Canada’s response to Israel’s genocide by enacting all economic, diplomatic, and political sanctions available.
