The idea that we cornered Cassie into a conversation about Israel-Palestine is fully untrue. Remember, our conversation started after she publicly shared her opinion on social media. The very statements that were made in the post reflect an indifference and denial of the genocide and terror the Israeli military has put the Palestinian population through. We simply could not stand by and not address it with her. So no, we did not corner her into talking about it. She posted controversial views about the subject, and we responded with our views, asking to have a conversation about it. That is not antisemitic. Asking to get more information on her opinion cannot be deemed antisemitic. What wouldn’t be antisemitic, leaving it be? Never asking her to clarify her opinion or never giving ours? What are our options here?
