Israel’s Shameful Smear Of Slain Gaza Nurse by Muhammad Shehada

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The racist, dehumanizing and hideous term “Pallywood” has been coined to imply that the entire Palestinian population are consistently conniving and contriving staged fictions of their brutal treatment to defame Israel. The absurdity of such horrendous term dishonors only its authors and advocates.

…in the words of Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, “there are no innocents in Gaza.” Per Lieberman, everyone in Gaza must have encountered a Hamas member for once in their life; in the streets, the shops or the mosques. That alone makes the entire population liable for attempted genocide.

To the IARPP Board: what did Gaza mean to you? by Martin Kemp and Samah Jabr

Group analyst Farhad Dalal has written of the way that manners, and social gossip, is generated by hegemonic groups to rationalise and police social relations of domination and subordination. His interest was primarily in the subtle devaluing of black people in white societies, but his insights are applicable in this context. While within Israel/Palestine, the protection and extension of Jewish privilege is ugly in the extreme, in the West it has been made impolite to say so. Acting in accordance with the universalist values that Western societies claim to champion, in relation to Israel/Palestine, has been rendered grounds for social exclusion. Etiquette is breached when someone steps out of line. Passively standing by in the face of an Apartheid social structure shorn up by an increasingly fascistic political culture appears more dignified than actions taken to challenge militarism or promote ethnic equality. It becomes offensive to point out how many of the components of a truly genocidal situation are active in the profoundly asymmetrical relationship between the Israeli State and the Palestinian people.

Israeli minister threatens to destroy Gaza “once and for all” by Ali Abunimah

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

As Israel bombed it dozens of times in the past day, a senior Israeli minister has incited the total destruction of Gaza.

On Tuesday, Israeli army radio tweeted the comments of energy minister Yuval Steinitz, who stated, “I do not rule out the possibility of conquering Gaza and destroying it once and for all.”

… Steinitz’s genocidal language is remarkably common in Israel. Calls for exterminating Palestinians have not disqualified Israeli leaders from the warm embrace of the European Union.

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Linn da Quebrada, a prominent voice of marginalized Black and poor LGBT people in Brazil, was expected to take part in the Festival’s Queer Party on June 6. She said:

Knowing that in Israel there are also people who suffer from oppression over their bodies and desires, I decided to cancel my participation, joining the cultural boycott that has grown in the last few months around the world, as a form of protest against Israel and its genocidal policies over Palestinians.

In coordination with Quebrada’s cancellation, Brazilian directors Claudia Priscilla and Kiko Goifman announced they are withdrawing their documentary “Bixa Travesty” from TLVFest. The film, which won the Teddy Award for best documentary at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival, is an intimate biographical portrayal of the life of Linn da Quebrada.

Goifman made the announcement on Facebook:

We decided to BOYCOTT TLVFest due to our profound disagreement with Israel’s genocidal policies. We cancelled the participation of the film “Bixa Travesty”. ENOUGH MASSACRES. Respect for the Palestinian people
