Trump’s new executive order promotes white supremacy by Yoav Litvin

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

American Jews are US citizens with full rights and obligations, while enjoying freedom to practise Judaism as a religion similar to all other religious groups. Defining Israel as a Jewish instead of a Zionist project and Judaism as a race or nationality immediately raises profoundly problematic issues of dual loyalty, and exposes American Jews to criticism, manipulation and potential abuse due to Israel’s reactionary agenda of apartheid and genocide of Palestinians.

Beyond Habeas Viscus: Mourning my father by Abdalhadi Alijla

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

There are pains that never heal, and there are institutions that are designed to dehumanize others. The institutions of a colonizing power are designed to not only steal land but they are also intended to inflict pain on the hearts of its indigenous people. Since 1948, an ongoing genocide, affecting the freedom and sovereignty of the Palestinians over their bodies and movement has resulted in their slow death, both mentally and physically.

Gaza 2020: Has the Palestinian territory reached the point of no return? by Megan O’Toole

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

In 2012, a United Nations report painted a bleak picture of the Gaza Strip and the conditions facing its Palestinian inhabitants.

…It is now almost 2020. The UN’s projections about Gaza’s ballooning demands have proven largely accurate – but the delivery of essential services has failed to catch up.

…Michael Lynk, the UN’s special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, told MEE: “The prediction of unliveability has already arrived. The common measuring stick used by the UN or any other international organisation to be able to evaluate how people live is human dignity, and Gaza has been without human dignity for years now.”

…Haidar Eid, an associate professor at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza, described Israel’s policy towards Palestinians in the enclave as “genocidal”.

…with the continuing population growth, service reduction and soaring unemployment, Gaza may be approaching a point of no return. Sara Roy, a senior research scholar at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies, told MEE: “The term ‘unliveable’… is meant as an alarm bell for the international community, but that bell has been ringing for a long time.” The warning, she said, has been ignored amid international indifference and humanitarian interventions that merely serve as a substitute for human rights. “Without the unencumbered movement of people and goods,” Roy said, “Gaza will be condemned to continued ruination.”

One state push for Israel and Palestine? by Ilan Pappe

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The recognition of the U.S. State Department of the illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank is yet another indication that the two-state solution is dead. There are 600,000 Jewish settlers in the West Bank and they will soon be one third of the overall population. When the Zionist settlers in the 1930s became one third of the population, Palestine was doomed. This is when the Zionist leadership began to contemplate the 1948 ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
… In some cases, the settler community acted upon the logic, defined by the late Australian scholar, Patrick Wolfe, as “the logic of the elimination of the native”. This led to the genocide of native Americans and aboriginals. But even there the struggle continues for recognition, restitution and equality. In Palestine, that logic was translated to an incremental process of ethnic cleansing, which the Palestinians call “the ongoing Nakba” (Nakba in Arabic is catastrophe and is used in the Palestinian narrative to describe the ethnic cleansing of 1948).

On State Contravention of the Genocide Convention by J.B. Gerald

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Accountability for the crime of genocide remains within the domain of the powerful. Apparently the powerful are concerned that if the ongoing mechanisms of genocide are overturned in one region they may be overturned in another and the entire fabric of profit and controls will unravel. Signatory major powers have not brought Israel before International Court on charges of Israel’s alleged genocide of Palestinians. The U.S. and Coalition destruction of Iraq was not permitted testing as the crime of genocide at any court with the power to apply the law, domestically or internationally.6. The tragedy of genocide against Myanmar’s Rohingya should have been addressed in 2012. The genocide trials of Guatemala should have been supported by the nations who signed the Genocide Convention.

#Normalisation Is Treason: Why artists must side with oppressed Palestinians by Nada Elia

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Mansour’s appearance in Jerusalem, and the screening of her feature film there, are all part of culture-washing Israel’s encroachment on the human rights of an entire people, whose women, children and men have no country whatsoever, and are made refugees in their own land, while Mansour enjoys the privileges of a cosmopolitan life.
So long as there are boundaries placed by Israel on an oppressed people – in the form of apartheid, occupation, the denial of the right of return, and a siege bordering on genocide in Gaza – then artists must side with the oppressed, or their art will be used to bolster the oppressor.

America fully complicit in Palestinian oppression by Fawaz Turki

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

…genocide is not just action taken by an aggressor to physically annihilate a people. The term, first coined by Raphael Lemkin, an American legal scholar of Polish-Jewish descent, in his landmark 1945 book, Genocide: A modern Crime, has sociological implications as well.

You kill a people’s soul, if not their body, by killing their culture, which leads to the erosion of their will-to-meaning, their fabric of sanity, the symbols they draw on to conceive of their identity and so on. And you wreak all that havoc on their internal psychic economy by taking away their land — land that their families had lived on, tilled and developed an intimately emotional, even teleological nexus with since time immemorial.

That’s what Israel has done in the past, what it is doing today and what it plans on continuing to do in the future. Its enabler? The United States of America.

Will Netanyahu face punishment for war crimes? by Iqbal Jassat

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

That Netanyahu and his predecessors have been spared the fate of late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, among others, reveals western double standards. And apart from imperial powers who view the apartheid regime as a strategic ally to sustain and extend their colonial dominance, it is equally outrageous for the International Criminal Court to wilfully allow Israel’s genocide of Palestinians to continue without any accountability.

No ‘revolution’ without Palestine: A letter to Bernie Sanders by Yoav Litvin

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

Sanders has a unique opportunity to powerfully inspire a real grassroots “political revolution” by confronting his own complicity with Zionist criminality and the bi-partisan consensus on Israel/Palestine. The courage to recognise Israel’s crimes and support Palestinians in their struggle for freedom are morally consistent, left-wing, anti-establishment, anti-imperialist positions, which do not come at the expense of Israelis or Jews. Opposition to ongoing apartheid and genocide in Israel/Palestine and support for peaceful tactics such as BDS are key galvanising themes, which would set Sanders apart from other candidates.
