Israel’s racist “holy war” by David Sheen

Anti-Palestinian incitement has always existed in Israeli politics, but in 2014 this racist discourse took a sharp turn for the worse. When three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian militants in June, Israeli political leaders did not call for the criminals to be caught and convicted. Rather, they demanded that mutilation and mass murder be visited on the general Palestinian population.

Prime Minister Netanyahu called for vengeance, and his coalition partners called for ethnic cleansing and genocide. Government faction whip Ayelet Shaked wrote: “Who is the enemy? The Palestinian people… are all enemy combatants… this also includes the mothers,” while ruling party faction leader Moshe Feiglin wrote: “The civilian population will be concentrated” and “Gaza will become part of… Israel and will be populated by Jews.”

US & Australia Opposition to Palestinian Freedom by Gideon Polya

This decision is a slap in the face of Humanity in that it permits the continuing Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestine and merits the strongest possible reaction of the civilized world through Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) not just against Israel, but also against its key supporters the genocidal colonization-based Apartheid states of America and Australia and those cowardly pro-Apartheid Israel states which abstained from the vote, namely the U.K., Rwanda, Nigeria, Lithuania, and South Korea.

Accordingly governments and ordinary citizens around the world need to take resolute action against Israel and Israel-supporting states through Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) of the kind that were successfully applied by Humanity against the obscenity of neo-Nazi in Apartheid South Africa. Indeed in our intensely advertising-, competition-, and market-based capitalist world we are enjoined to exercise free choice in purchase of goods and services. Would you buy coffee produced by slave labor? Would you buy soap made in Auschwitz? Would you buy goods and services from states supporting Israeli human rights abuse, war crimes and genocide?

Apartheid Israel And Apartheid Australia Violate All Articles Of UN Declaration On The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples by Dr Gideon Polya

Apartheid Australia and Apartheid Australia-backed Apartheid Israel have appalling, continuing records of violating the human rights of their Indigenous Peoples through the Australian Aboriginal Genocide and the Palestine Genocide, respectively, and must be held to account by the civilized world through Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) for their genocidal crimes and for currently violating all 46 Articles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The UN General Assembly’s 61st regular session overwhelmingly voted for the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) on 13 September 2007.

United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Prevention of Genocide, Adama Dieng, still avoiding his responsibility towards the Palestinian people (UN News Center, 2014)

Not a single country is immune to the risk of genocide, said the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Prevention of Genocide today as he marked the 66th anniversary of the signing of the 1948 Genocide Convention. “As we continue to fight and to realize the objectives, we pay tribute to the millions of men and women who have lost their lives to genocide,” said Mr. Adama Dieng as he briefed reporters at UN Headquarters in New York, as part of a series of events in the run-up to Human Rights Day, commemorated annually on 10 December.

“We owe to them and to ourselves and future generations to realize a world free of genocide. We are still far from that, but we aim to make it happen,” he added. “Genocide must and can be prevented if we have the will of applying the lessons learned from Rwanda, Srebrenica, and the Holocaust. It is important to identify risk factors that would lead to genocide rather than to wait to when people are being killed…”

Answering a question on Gaza, he said he was not here to make a legal determination of genocide but analyse the risk of genocide. Last summer’s conflict may have led to crimes against humanity or war crimes. He was aware of Israel’s disproportionate military response. But when you send rockets from a civilian area, like Hamas did, that is a crime as well.

Why The Genocides Continue by John Bart Gerald

Palestine: some European governments are attempting to counter a genocide of Palestinians by recognizing Palestine as a State, with rights under international law. Sweden recognizes the state of Palestine. Spain’s lawmakers have passed a motion asking the government to recognize the State of Palestine. Similar requests by the parliaments of Great Britain and Ireland have been refused. A similar motion and non-binding resolution is underway in France and in Denmark. With the exception of countries mentioned and the U.S., Canada, Japan, Columbia, Mexico, Panama, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, Latvia, Finland, Estonia, Belgium, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, most other countries in the world have already recognized Palestinian statehood. A study by the World Zionist Organization finds a worldwide increase of anti-Semitic acts by 383% over the same period last year, during Israel’s waging of Operation Protective Edge against Gaza. The percentage rises to 100% in Canada, 435% in Europe and 1200% in South America.

Sayed Kashua presents: The Palestinian version of Thanksgiving

The teacher read out a text about the tremendous difficulties the pilgrims encountered – about the exhaustion, hunger and disease – and the little pilgrims started to spin around, one after the other, falling gently onto the soil of the promised land. Then little children with feathers on their heads – Native Americans, they were called – arrived and helped the pilgrims get up, recover and stand on their feet. The natives showed the pilgrims how to work the new earth, what to do with corn and what pumpkin is, how to hunt and which animals they could eat.

I was naively waiting for a Nakba in the next act, and I was very proud that my son was one of the pioneers. But instead of perpetrating genocide, the pilgrims held a large meal from the harvest of the land, and invited the natives to eat with them in a great celebration as a token of gratitude.

“If the UN does not investigate these claims then there is a risk that the credibility of the UN will be undermined.”

28/11/2014

Dear sir/madam

If the separate laws for Jews and non-Jews, financing of illegal settlements, displacement of the original occupants, building of walls enclaving a people, demolishing of historical and religious foundations, and the increasing death toll of Palestinian children is not evidence enough of Israel committing genocide, then I don’t know what is. More and more activists, journalists, humanitarian organisations, officials and people in general are beginning to speak up about the atrocities faced by the Palestinian people. If the UN does not investigate these claims then there is a risk that the credibility of the UN will be undermined. So in saying this I strongly suggest that you conduct an enquiry and publish it’s finding and recommendations as to the possibility that Israel is committing the crime of genocide.

Regards,
Kamariah

Making Thanksgiving Real: Rejoice in Our Ability to Challenge the Pervasive Injustice in American Society by Rabbi Michael Lerner

The greatest injustice to recall on Thanksgiving is the genocide perpetrated by European settlers against the Native Americans, successfully wiping out most of them over the course of some 200 years of ruthless expropriation of their lands, their means of livelihood and food, and their self-respect. At the Thanksgiving dinner it is particularly appropriate to invoke the memory of those natives, and recommit ourselves to doing all we can to ensure that no other people gets similarly treated. Sadly, the Palestinian people may be facing a similar expropriation as Israeli settler daily expand their settlements on Arab lands.
