Peace Train: Siege of Gaza is a crime against humanity by Ron Forthofer

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

In February 2006, former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s adviser Dov Weissglas shockingly admitted the goal for the 1.5 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as: “We have to make them much thinner, but not enough to die.” In October 2006, John Dugard, a South African law professor and the U.N. Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, stated that Israel has turned the Gaza Strip into a prison for Palestinians where life is “intolerable, appalling, tragic” and appears to have thrown away the key.
In a Jan. 11, 2008, article, Ilan Pappe, a Jewish professor and one of the leading historians of the Middle East, described the situation as genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. These statements were before Israel totally sealed Gaza on Jan. 18, 2008. After this hermetic closure, Karen Koning AbuZayd, commissioner general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, stated: “Gaza is on the threshold of becoming the first territory to be intentionally reduced to a state of abject destitution, with the knowledge, acquiescence and — some would say — encouragement of the international community.” On Jan. 30, 2008, Neve Gordon, who teaches politics at Ben-Gurion University, described the crisis as an experiment in famine.
In 2012, the U.N. warned that Gaza would be unlivable by 2020 if nothing were done to ease the blockade.

Israel’s homophobic education minister Rafi Peretz peddles a vile doctrine, racist to its core by David Sheen

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

If there were any remaining doubts about Peretz’ odious ideology, he dispelled them this week when his ministry co-sponsored a ceremony honoring another arch-racist Israeli rabbi, Yitzchak Ginsburgh… the rabbi who published “The King’s Torah,” a religious manual that grants Jews the license to kill any non-Jew that they fear may one day threaten them, even babies. Casual observers of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are unlikely to have noticed this last news item, seeing as it did not receive even a thousandth of the press coverage given to Peretz professing, and then backtracking, on his homophobia.
… In 2016, when he was the Chief Rabbi of the Israeli Army, Peretz bestowed his prestige upon the author of “The King’s Torah,” Yitzhak Shapira, joyously dancing with him at his daughter’s wedding.
Idolising assassins and loathing leftists, inverting the Holocaust and justifying genocide: these are the ideas that Israel’s national religious camp imparts to its students, the ideas that they wish to instill in all Jewish youth, in Israel and abroad.
For over a decade, Netanyahu has presided over this insidious process. But now with Rafi Peretz as education minister, we can expect it to occur even quicker.

GUEST BLOG: Lois Griffiths – We hear the cry of our Children on The Daily Blog

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

The cruelty inflicted on all Palestinians is obscene, including in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Israel itself. In the West Bank, farmers are being denied access to their land and their water sources. Palestinians face constant violence from heavily armed Israeli soldiers, police and ‘settlers’. Children are kidnapped from their homes in the middle of the night by Israeli IDF. East Jerusalem Palestinians are being squeezed out. In Israel, Bedouin villages that existed and paid taxes before there even was an Israel, are being destroyed to be replaced by Jewish only settlements.
But in Gaza the situation is even worse . Noam Chomsky has described  Israeli control over  Gaza as ‘sadistic.’ Israeli historian Ilan Pappé has said, ‘incremental genocide’. The UN  has said that Gaza will be unliveable by 2020.
The Church leaders emphasise the urgency, the vital need for action NOW, by invoking the Greek work kairos. The Greeks had 2 words for time, chronos being chronological time and kairos meaning the propitious moment for immediate action.

Palestine and the ‘Deal of the Century’ by Robert Fantina

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

In the past, both Democratic and Republican elected officials in the U.S. marched lock-step in their servile bowing to Israel, supporting ever-increasing aid and praising its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, war crimes and crimes against humanity notwithstanding. Members of the Democratic Party are still nauseatingly pro-Israel, but, as indicated above, their complete and unqualified support for that apartheid state is a thing of the past. And a recent survey indicates that, among younger Republicans, support for Israel is quickly dwindling.

Mandela’s grandson at Palestine Expo: ‘We have a moral duty to support the BDS’ on Middle East Monitor

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

My brothers and sisters; Palestine Expo reminds us of the reality of a nation that has now withstood 71 years of the Nakba. It reminds us of homes, farms and villages that was once home to a vibrant community with a proud history, culture, language and cuisine that has been usurped and occupied in gross violation of international law. Seven decades of ethnic cleansing and genocide perpetrated in the name of the myth of a land without people, for a people without land.

‘Judaism Is an Adjective That Modifies My Arabness’ by Tzach Yoked

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

“If Israel was in earnest concerned with the well-being of international Jews, it would do much more to ensure that the climate of hatred that continues to assault Jewish people internationally has no room to exist, instead of fueling it in the form of [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s administration’s policies and allegiances with [U.S. President Donald] Trump, [Brazilian President Jair] Bolsonaro, and company. Israel and the world owe us genuine, painstaking efforts to stamp out genocide and systematic dehumanization, wherever it is emerging, including in the case of the Palestinians.”

Bahrain conference is a stab in the back to every Palestinian by Aya Al Ghazzawi

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

This conference, in fact, is one step in the continual dehumanization of the Palestinian people. It says that the Palestinian cause costs as much as 50 billion dollars as distributed to Palestine ($28 billion) and surrounding countries like Egypt ($12 billion), Jordan ($7 billion) and Lebanon ($6 billion) within the next 10 years. It says that the blood of the Palestinian martyrs and the people’s long suffering can be bargained upon. That money can make up to Palestinians for the ongoing ethnic cleansing which began in 1948. That the incremental genocide inflicted by Israel on Palestinians can be forgotten for crumbs of bread and a trivial sum of money. And most importantly, that the unquestionable right of Palestinians to return to their usurped homelands and compensation as guaranteed in Resolution 94 can be alienated.

Has India abandoned Palestine? by Askiah Adam

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

INDIA has recently voted in support of Israel at the United Nations for the first time in its post-independence history. At the UN’s Economic and Social Council on June 6 she voted with Israel to deny a Palestinian non-governmental organisation, the Shahed, an observer status.
To many this may appear innocuous. Israel has persuaded India that Shahed is a terrorist organisation and not, as it claims to be, an NGO fighting for the human rights of Palestinians. But under threat of genocide is not survival contingent upon resistance? Why not give Shahed an observer status? How dangerous can that be?

What’s Wrong With Palestinian Surrender? by Danny Danon on The New York Times

Please TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW and send your letter to the UN Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the International Criminal Court Prosecutor.

With this national ethos, negotiating without the explicit endorsement of a Palestinian state is seen as a rejection of the Palestinian national identity, and an acknowledgment that Israel and the Jewish people are here to stay. In short, for Mr. Abbas and Mr. Erekat, this approach is akin to national suicide.

Yet a national suicide of the Palestinians’ current political and cultural ethos is precisely what is needed for peace. The belief that the Jews have no right to the land and Israel is to be destroyed, which engenders a culture of hate and incitement, needs to end.
